First of all you can't develop a good voice especially for singing. I think that one can sing easily but can't make an impact like an in-born singer. one who has a capability to attract people by his/her voice can develop it by constant practice. One should feel good while listening to you voice .

Start out by singing in the shower, make sure to record your voice and listen to yourself using headphones.  you have to learn to love the sound of your voice, which i think is natural for everyone to HATE at first.

practice some scales and this will help you hit your notes

make sure to practice your breathing as well, because you are going to need to be able to breath really great for belting out long notes.

why not start by joining a non professional choir? there you have the constant practice needed to improve your voice not to mention the vocalization that the choir master taught its members before the actual singing..

Record yourself and play it back to hear how you really sound.  Practice scales every day, and don't let yourself get away with being off by even half a tone.

There are some great software programs out there that provide virtual singing lessons.  Teach Yourself to Sing (by Alfred Publishing Company, Inc.) was one I tried.  It was fun to do, although I still think my singing needs more improvement.

here is the advise given in a tv program by famous Lata Mangeshkar. who has made record in film songs. given playback for more than 10000 songs. and is treated as godess of music in India.
gargle with little salt in warm water when you get up.
practice all songs in kharaj(on a lowest scale that you can). this will open your voice and also increase your scale.

There are certain basics of which every writer should be aware. Poor spelling, bad grammar, improper punctuation, and a slipshod or sloppy presentation can derail any well thought out article. It stands to reason that improving these building blocks of writing will improve the overall quality of your product. read more

Learning to speak well is an essential skill if you wish to be a performer unless, of course, you dream of following in the slippers of Marcel Marceau, the famous French mime. Anyone who wishes to pursue a career on stage, or in front of a class, would do well to learn how to use their basic instrument - their voice. read more
