   Well, in my expereience, there are two kinds. There is the love for your family, friends and relatives. It's an intense caring for an individual. Most of the time, the people that you love comes before anyone else. And when you lose that love through death, it can take a toll on you, especially if it's a parent. If it's one of your children, you may never be the same.  Then there is being in love. That has many of the same characteristics as the love I just mentioned, except that is between two lovers and includes a physical relationship. When you are in love, Just thinking of that person, especially when the relationship is new can bring a smile to your face. When you are in love, you want to be with that person all the time.  The thing that goes with that is when your girlfriend or boyfriend or spouse does something that hurts you, especially cutting you down, it hurts more than if someone from your family says the same thing.
   I really believe a person cannot live without love. It's been proven that just touching a child when he is young stimulates brain cells and even grows new one. Love is eesntial to ones self esteem. If no one loves you, how can you love or even like yourself?

   I personally like this explanation of love:

   Love is when another person's wishes, desires, needs, wants and life become more important to you than your own.

   to me i feel love is a burning fire within you. it makes you want to give all without expecting any thing in return. when the love is not returned however it gradually kills the fire and what is left is a cold dust.

   Its mainly an invisible bonding of minds between two or a group of people which demands support,understanding,commitment,honesty,purity and unselfishness.Love can also be expressed in material forms like love for pets,nature..etc.
