   There are ways but the first question back to you is why do you want more followers? Is it an ego thing?
   The only thing that more hubber followers does is inflate your ego. There is no monetary gain. There is no guarantee that the followers are following you for the right reasons. They may only wish you to follow them back, just to show that they have a lot of followers. I am not sure but it may have an impact on your hubscore, but that is meaningless also.
   To gain more followers:
   Write hubs that are entertaining, full of good information and insightful and are relevant to the audience you are aiming at.That way you will get meaningful followers.
   Become a part of the community and post answers to questions and delve into the forums and post meaningful remarks in the discussions. These will show those that might like your musings that you exist.
   Post comments on hubs that you read from other hubbers - but make them relevant to the hub and not just a meaningless 'great hub' - you can do the latter by just voting up and giving a boost to the hub with 'useful' etc.
   Become a fan of other hubbers and give some insight to them as to why you want to be a fan. They may reciprocate - but don't do this just to build your fan club, they will be fickle friends and will likely not read your hubs.
   Enough ways?
   What you really want is for people outside of hubpages to read your articles. It is they that can produce income for you - hubbers cannot as this would infringe the google adsense way of doing things.
   If you want to know how to get income from what you do at hubpages then use the search box at the top of your screen and search for 'making money on hubpages' or something similar. You will get a lot of useful pointers.
   Most important for all aspects of being at hubpages - write good copy whatever area of hubpages you are on - google is watching!!!

   I agree with you humagaia that the followers don't increase $$ gain, unless they're clicking on your adsenses to help you. Don't be naive, there are ways to sidestep the restrictions. (What ways, umm, i dunno, boss.)But S_little's question was specific, any answer TO HER outside of that is irrelevant. Just give the answer their question implies. It's not our (hubbers) job to chastise anyone not seeking chastisement. Moving right along....
   Suggestion 1: write articles no one or not many people are doing. To date, I've not found anyone whose wrote a hub PROVING Enoch didn't die. I wrote such a hub and to date its my HIGHEST viewed hub with approx. 230 views total at 16 views a day. I've only been here for 15 days. Exposés & informative hubs do well.
   Suggestion 2: participate in forum discussions & answer Q's. I have 10 followers. I'm fairly certain to say, all but 2 chose to follow my hubs after first coming across me in a forum. Present yourself as you are (but with tact & humility). Ever since I stopped frequenting forums, my follower-growth has greatly slowed down.
   Suggestion 3: choose a niche; write only what you're skilled in. Again, I'm a very logical-thinking person, loving to stick to "provable" facts, & I dislike misleading info. To date, my most viewed hubs are those that EXPOSE a lie, a falsehood, or deception. My niche hubs get more traffic--not once has the Blue Down Arrow showed up on them (the 4 hubs only).

   And as constructive criticism, if you expect many people to read your hubs, you need to break them up into paragraphs.
   
   When I looked at your latest hub, my brain just did not want to read it because it is one very long paragraph.  Because you asked for help. I forced myself and really: it's not bad.  It was worth reading.
   
   Make it easy for people to read and I think you will do much better.

   I started hubpages because my fiance started one. I wrote one hub and it made me feel good. It was never about people following me or getting money or points to feed my ego. It was just nice to be able to let my feelings out.
   
   The things I write about are things that are going on in my life, or my families life or even just something I heard about. I just love the feeling. Lots of times when I say how Im feeling and share my views with people they brush me off. Now Im at a  point where I realize I do want to be heard. Im very opinionated and I like feedback. I dont have too many people in my corner thatll just sit there and listen to me. So thats pretty much why I want more followers.
   
   I read all the feedback and you guys gave me some really good advice. As soon as I get the chance I will break my hubs into paragraphs and also clean them up a bit. Also, I didnt even know this site had forums. Lol, never even thought to explore this site because I just wanted to write and thats it. As soon as I get a chance I will.

   It's all about exposure! Ask yourself, who do I want to follow me? The answer is  hubbers that follow others well! That is a hubber that you see repeatedly. Every time a person writes a hub, bam they're posting to it! These are the people you follow and in turn they will follow you! Followers mean traffic, traffic raises your score, the higher your score the more people want to follow you! The higher your score, the more people want to link to your hubs! This increases your traffic as well!
      Following hubbers that have a large following gets you exposer! Post regularly and people will take notice and follow you. Write interesting hubs on a variety of subjects and this will increase your audience pool (potential followers)!
