He's looked really good these last two weeks but I'm not sure he'll win three tournaments in a row
I don't know, but he (or at least someone) farted at the Buick open and it was pretty funny..
As far as the "gas" is concerned, what I read was that it came from one of the commentators, but was attributed to Tiger. Tiger and associate, I read, was laughing about it when it happened. As to the question of who will win next week's Championship, it is hard to say. Winning two tournaments back-to-back just might have taken too much out of Tiger to the point that he might not have enough left in him to win next week's Major. On the other hand, the two tournments might have helped him get ready for this week's major by identifying for him what he needs to work on in order to win the Major. Still again, Padrig Harrington might be feel that he was robbed of a major win this week by being put on the clock to the point that he went, so to speak, belly up on the the famous sixteenth hole of the Bridgestone Tournament. He might be out to prove that he should have won and can win and have won against Tiger. And Harrington, believe is not just some other player. He's one of Europe's greatest golfer's. So I think it come down to being a toss up between Woods and Harrington. Being a fan of Tiger, and seeing what he did on the sixteenth hole, I am placing my bet on my man, Tiger Woods!
I would never bet against Tiger, but I don't think he can win three in a row. Harrington will be tough to beat, and Mickelson showed he can follow up a so/so performance and still compete in a major. What I think is more likely to happen is that someone from the pack, similar to Lucas Glover will play prominently in this tourney....maybe even Sergio....nah
They say that the cream always rises to the top. Right now at this posting it's holding true for Tiger at the 14th hole. He is 2-up on Fisher and 4-up on Harrington. It has been a tough day for all of them aside from Fisher. He's playing 6 under. As for Michelson, he shot a 74 for the day and is apt to be cut. If Tiger can make it through today's round on top where he is right now, his chance of winning three in a row is highly probable. I will keep watching and posting and I hope that all of you will do the same!
Looks like he had a great first round. He fired a 67 (-5) and holds a one shot lead over Padraig.
I'm really bummed I'm traveling Sunday, because I bet it will be an awesome final round.
My hubby will be there on Sunday. My son is BUMMED, he has soccer try-outs Sunday morning so he can't go.
Wow - they are strict, no cell phones, no cameras (I wanted a picture of Tiger), no iPods, no knives (duh), and the list goes on.
Ya looks like Tiger played terrific but Harrington is right there. No matter what when Tiger starts off this good he will be in the thick of it all on Sunday
Tiger Woods is up 4. Because of this, I think he looks rather good going into the weekend. I'm going to stick with Tiger as the winner of this championship come Sunday! As they used to say: "Be there or be square!"
Tiger appears to have taken the day off. He had a couple of birdies and all the rest were pars. The important thing to note is that he went bogey free. He did not give up any points, which I think is great. He let the game come to him and not him to the game. He didn't force the game when it was not there. Had he done so, I believe that he would have given up a few points here and there in the name of bogeys. As to Harrington, he is such a crisp and precise player. I like to watch him play. As one of the announcers stated during the broadcast, he was simply brilliant, not counting his only bogey on the 18th hole. Still, it is anybody's game even though Tiger is 2-up. I think that it will come down to Tiger, Harrington, or Yang. But I am still staying with Tiger as the winner. The Tiger, I suspect, will be loose from his cage come tomorrow!
Yang Wins!! I called it right: I said that I thought it would come down to Tiger, Harrington, or Yang as you can see from the above quote. Unfortunately, the Tiger never came out from his cage. Perhaps he played one too many golf tournaments back to back after just coming off of knee surgery? YANG WINS!! Congradulations, Yang!
Let's do this again for the next golf championship. It's been fun!
It was a great tournament, for some reason Tiger could never get the putter going on Sunday. I wasn't surprised that he couldn't pull off three in a row, that's asking a lot. He still is an amazing talent and I would expect that he'll come back with a vengence.
dc2004, you were right that Tiger would not win three in a row. I only wonder what the results would have been had Tiger been able to get the putter going. He just didn't seem to have it in the last round. He couldn't get the putter going nor could he shoot the spectatular shots that have been his signature. Yang, if you don't already this, beat Tiger 3 years ago in a tournment in China. More importantly, he ran over all of the big names in golf in both the third and final round of this tournament. Question: Will we be seeing more of Yang in the future or will he eventually fade like the Michaelsons, V J Singhs, Duvals, etc. against Tiger Wood? This is something to ponder until the next major.
hubby your question is a good one, I hope that Yang can replicate his performance. He seems like a good natured guy, not taking himself too seriously, but your right so many guys vanish after their one great performance. Not so much Mickelson and Singh, but guys like Rich Beem, Michael Campbell, Ben Curtis, Todd Hamilton, guys that stepped up and won a major and then you rarely hear from them again.

In this morning's Hilton Head Island Packet, I read this blurb from Thomas Boswell of the Washington PostThose who think that this week simply marks the return of Tiger Woods to his regularly scheduled appointment with greatness - and 5 more major championships to pass Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 -...

At the moment Spurs vs. OKC 2-0 and Miami Heat vs. Celtics 2-0 in favor of Miami.Seems like Miami and Spurs are strong contenders.Nothing against Miami Lebron and Wade, but I think Spurs is going to win it.
