I do use Digg, but I find that I get better results by using stumbleupon, and twitter. Also, during a challenge here on HubPages (thank you wavegirl22) I learned about another great way to promote hubs on the site shetoldme.com. I often find my articles on the first page of Google with the shetoldme url. You may want to give it a try! It has an adsense share program and many other benefits. I hope this help you! Good luck!

No; self-promotion through social networking is a bad option, even for those who do take proactive measures to increase readership.
Choosing shrewd keywords and researching those keywords is more sensible in terms of viability.
I do with some of my hubs. I also use stumbleupon, facebook, and twitter. However, there are some I use all, and some I will only send to facebook and twitter. It depends on what the hub is about!
I have done this, but only if it's an article that is already somewhat popular. I have written some really good articles and I have written some that later I kind of decided were duds. If I promoted EVERYTHING I wrote on Digg, it would probably do very little for those quality articles that I write...
Do they really increase the number of visitors to your hubs or would that number increase naturally anyway? I do not promote my articles outside Hubpages and I notice that I get more readers overtime. I tried a little bit of Digg, Stumbleupon, and Tweeter, but I am not sure they are worth the effort. Maybe I should give it another try??
I use digg to promote some articles and it's good and easy.
As I understand it, the thing with digg is that Google's web crawler spider bots (doesn't that sound interesting?) check digg hourly, and so the thing is, when you submit to digg, your brand new hub is indexed by Google within the hour, and thus, available via keywords to whoever is searching for your content.
Yeah, I got a quick boost but no long term traffic. For my market, it seems like a waste of time.
I do use these, but the interface is some what of a mind boggle for me. And advice please
I use Digg on many of my articles that deal with new technology, such as cell phones or laptops. I've had some good results with traffic from Digg and Reddit so far.
I will now, thanks for the advice. Actually, I did not know I could do that on Digg.
i use digg. however, to increase and better my traffic, i also use several other sites that are similar to digg (some of which has some cool features). one of them is virtusa.co.za (a South African version of Digg) BUT users can also leverage their Adsense by using a 80% - 20% revenue share model (80% for USERS). all this by simply submitting links. also has some other features. check them out : http://www.virtusa.co.za

Just wondering what sites Hubbers use to promote their articles? I have seen a lot of changes over the years with some sites no longer allowing links in forums or comments, and some article sharing sites just going away. I primarily use Facebook and Twitter these days to share my...

In another forum topic thread someone mentioned Niome as a blogging site. I quickly created two posts for the site--both under 300 words. One was new content and one was a rehash of a hub I did. I wanted to link the rehash to my hub. I just added the short url that HP provides. I've search...
