ive been reading earlier posts on here and read that some witches already have natural powers like controlling elements or moving things telepathically, im only just starting to dabble in witchcraft and hope to continue for the rest of my life and was wondering that do i have to be born wth these abilities, like manipulating the elements or can i develop it and practice without any born gift? please help smile kindest thoughts,

Most "witches" making these kinds of claims are either full of B.S. or well, full of B.S. Developing abilities like ESP, lucid dreaming, or control over one's environment takes study and dedication. While some people ARE born, more sensitive, than others with the proper motivation and discipline just about anyone is capable of plumbing the inner and outer depths for knowledge.

Considering you just started, I can understand it being very tempting to want everything now, or faster if you please, but just like a scientist has to study for years to become an astronomer- so does a magick user have to study and master themselves to become proficient in their craft.

Notice I said "master of self" and not "perfect." Perfection is not really an option.

Hope this helps you out a bit! Stay focused and have fun in your studies!

There is no written law that says that witches cannot develop abilities. Even for many who are natural-born witches, practicing witchcraft is like exercising your brain or any set of muscles. Having potential is only half the equation. It needs to be exercised on a regular basis in order to develop proficiency. You may also find out that what interests you now may change as you spend more time practicing witchcraft.

For instance you may walk into it curious about manipulating the elements and then ten years from now discover an ability you never even imagined. So don't confine yourself to just one type of abilities. Learn everything that you find remotely curious.

You can get it in two ways: i) naturally with your opposite existence ii) through careful maneuvering of your 2nd existence with practice, i.e. you contain it, now you have to know how to use it!

Everything you need is already a part of you. You just need to look within yourself and find where your strengths lay. For me it started with psychic dreaming and taking photos with orbs in them. Start a journal of the events around you and this will help you find your way to what you are in search of. Remember no one person can move a mountain with their mind, it must be their hands and the help of many others. Powers to move objects are not what you search for, trust in yourself and you will find your purpose and destiny. Blessed Be.smile
