   Do you think that it's possible to achieve your dreams and still make a living in this day and age?
   
   Are poets, authors, artists, dancers, and other creative career paths too hard to achieve? Do college classes and seminars help people to become more proficient, or simply drive them towards a more commercialized theme? I think it's all about money these days. People have let profit disintegrate their hopes, passion, and aspirations.

   I think that it is possible to achieve your dreams and make a large profit in doing so. I have this solid belief that if you really love something, you can find a way to make a living from it. Profit has not disintegrated anyone's hopes or dreams. The problem lies with those who think that they won't be able to generate any income by pursuing their dreams. There is always a way, especially now. Don't give up on your dreams. Do what you love. If you're truly happy then the universe will provide.

   Hey, anything is possible, it just takes a little more work in some cases. Take me for instance, I'm trying to get my home income in place through Hubpages but I'm working on the side to help get it off the ground. My hope is to begin making enough money to quit my job and do this full time. You just have to work hard to get where you want to be.

   I think it is difficult to display your art...of any kind...in the early stages of trying to make your work known. I would sure hope that commercialization is not a driving force behind anyone's art. However, you have to target a certain appeal to your work no matter what you do or create...i.e. performers, painters, writers. In a way...an artist has to have some kind of market plan as to who he/she is targeting with their work. Then the rest is how good the art takes hold and how good the word gets spread about it. Then, only then, do I believe that you could make a good living at it. So, with some hard work over time and determination in the right area...I would say that an artist could make a living doing what they dream.

   I personally think that there aren't anything impossible. You need to believe and work hard for all of it. I think if you love doing something it's easier to achieve your goal. Well I just want to believe it.

   I definitely think it is. The only question is if you are willing to follow your heart and not what the "world" wants. I see many people everyday that have big dreams but will never make them a reality because what they do for a living takes up all their time. I say find your passion and turn that into your work. That way you can achieve your dreams and make a living.

   I think it is still possible but very difficult.
   
   The prudent thing to do is to find a reliable source of income while pursuing our dreams.
   
   It's all about money these days because you need money to survive. It has always been about money, better men/women are just able see that its the deeper happiness that money can provide which is important. For example i want to be able to send my children, when I have them, to good schools and take them on vacations. I need money for that.
   
   You can delay your dreams if you have to, after all like miley cyrus said "it's the climb" hahaha I actually quoted her.
   
   I don't see any sense in gambling what I now have for a pursuit of a dream that will most likely be short lived.
   
   It's highly unlikely that our dreams are achievable in a span of a couple of years anyway.
   
   If it's anything worth dreaming about then it should, in my opinion, take a lifetime to achieve. Or better yet it should be something that will outlive you and you should only seek to contribute to it.
   
   This being the case, looking for a job that will sustain you or "commercializing" your art for a bit is acceptable because like everyone else you need the money. You need to eat while your pursuing your dream after all.
   
   You can start thinking about acts of pure creativity when you have enough to sustain yourself for the duration of the endeavor, which most likely will be very expensive.

   I don't believe it is. With people wanting to do so much and having such high goals, the world just doesn't seem to support young people or even established adults enough to grow and develop into what we truly want to be.

   Misscoles... I suppose you won't really know the answer 'till you've tried. And it might be different from the opinions already expressed as well as the opinion I'm about to express.
   
   Along with most of the other folks who answered, I firmly believe that if you're driven you can do anything, and the only way to be driven is to find what you're passionate about.
   
   Dreams can be made real even while making a living through other means, the two aren't mutually exclusive, though it's usually not part of the goal to maintain that arrangement forever (as brandonakelly's already said). I think that you've got to work for it more often than not, but just because it takes effort doesn't mean it isn't doable or worth doing (quite the opposite, actually). And, in my experience, if you genuinely love doing something, there's a thing called "effortless effort" that seems to take place...
