Do I just need a follower?
I joined hubpages about a week ago and the target I set for myself was to get to a score of 75. I'm now up to 74 - what's the best way to quickly get an extra point? Would 1 follower be enough?
Your hubscore is not really from that. It's from the quality of your articles. Take a look at some of the hubs that more successful hubbers write and use the information to improve your own hubs.
Check out all of these articles, seriously ALL of them (some heavy reading) and follow this advice and you'll not only have a high hubscore but you'll start bringing in a bit of money:

One follower, or 1000 followers aren't going to raise your score.
Melbel is right.
Apart from that, your score will usually rise if you ask and answer questions, participate in the Forums, and read the Hubs of others.
As Melbel says, most importantly, you should produce high quality Hubs. If you do this, you will get Followers, but Followers won't add to your Hubber Score.
I'd also advise you to go to the Learning Center on HubPages, for which Melbel has provided the link.
Answer a few questions, do a little hub hopping, leave a couple of comments, make a couple of forum posts.
Plus write good hubs and all that of course.
Good luck mate.
When you write quality hubs, people are likely to follow you. But how do they find you? You make god hubs and also start following people and they will follow you if they like your stuff. But be genuine about the comments you make on others' hubs. This way people will find you. Increase in traffic will likely increase your monetary gains.

My aim at hubpages is to earn an average of $500 or more per month in a years time. Right now I have 165 hubs and earn between $20-$30. I wanted to know if I can achieve my goal in a years time or less if I concentrate on keyword and good topic selection and don't do any backlinking.

Hello,I've been working hard over the past six months per hubpages and have what I think are a number of nice, interesting hubs. They are getting read quite a bit but few other hubbers choose to follow me. I sometimes will run a query of a topic I'm interested in (like the singer Neil...

One of the biggest ways to learn success on the web is to...study success.1. Go to Alexa.com's profile of Hubpages2. Go to the profiles of the hubbers who get the largest percentage of Hubpages' traffic.3. Examine what kind of topics they cover. How would these topics be useful for people searching...
