    John, I am plagued by negative thinking, a true pessimist and have been all my life.  I feel it...

    is at the heart of my depression.  Have you been able to change your negative thoughts permanently and has this been the cure for your depression?

    I'm sure that there are pessimists who do not suffer from depression. You don't say if you have been diagnosed with depression.  However, one of the symptoms of clinical depression is negative or what I like to call "stckin thinkin".  There is treatment including the standard medication and /or therapy plus alternative  and complimentary treatments as well.The symptoms for clinical depression are treatable but as of yet, there is no cure.
