I keep on and keep on seeing profiles with no avatar posting SEO articles, and I could almost...

swear without checking that I've seen one article that is a complete duplicate of another one that I also saw today, both "shadow avatar" profiles with no followers, and maybe two hubs.  Is this . . .the type of thing that should be flagged as spam?  Is anyone else seeing this same phenomenon lately?

My understanding is that while quality is always required here, not all hubpage moderators can spot them that quick as there are thousands or perhaps millions of post are made on this site.

Spam isn't the only reason you might want to flag a hub.  They have other reasons as well.  Low quality is one.  I don't know if they have a duplicate content category, but there is a nice "other" category you could flag it and let someone know it needs to be checked up on.  Just because you flag something doesn't mean it will be taken down, only that some human editor somewhere will take a look and see if it's a problem.

exact duplication should be flagged, as they might be stealing content from other web sites. Having a high level of garbage on this site effects all of us ;-).

We have to report to spam. Also, hubpages find duplicate and give low score. So, just flag it as spam.

Well, I suppose we should report it but it takes time to check every article if they are duplicates. Also how can one know which article is a duplicate of which? The wrong person could easily get accused.

I'd say report it....if you can't bother to put up an avatar, it's probably just spam!

Also, obviously if you see duplicates out there, that's a big no-no, report to mods right away.

It's absolutely spam (most likely). There are programs out there that open up accounts on dozens of different sites just so the authors can post spun versions of articles they probably didn't even write in the first place. These programs generally aren't sophisticated enough to load up an avatar.

Aside from low quality, 2 other big signs of spam to watch out for:
    1) Minimal linkages and to only one or two different sites. These sites are rarely, if ever, well known sites because they are the sites the author is trying to promote.
    2) No use of any modules, just a wall of text. Sure, it'll have paragraphs, but no pictures, no polls, no amazon links--only the adsense links that HP inserts automatically. The programs cannot accommodate every sites special publishing tools, so they tend to just dump everything into one text section.

I have to disagree with not using the pictures. I tend to put pictures but I also tend not to use pictures.

About the topic at hand. This has been happening all over the internet. Of course they have to be flagged.
