Well I can only talk for the UK but
3 do an "all you can eat" data plus 2000 minutes and 5000 texts for 35 with a free HTC Desire HD

but really it isnt just about the provider as if you go to them direct it is quite expensive whereas here
    http://www.phone-splat.co.uk/show.asp?hs=desirehd
shows that going through a 3rd party saves an awful lot of money.

Few providers actually mean unlimited when they say unlimited.
Tmobile has just announced a cut and most say that 1GB counts as unlimited!

Now that the iPhone is hitting Verizon, there is going to be some juggling around in price. I think Sprint currently holds the best deal on the market for $69.99 for unlimited everything. However, as this competition in this market heats up I would not be surprised to see a price war very soon.

Depending on your budget. There is Virgin Mobile that offers unlimited data / messaging for 300 minutes for about $60. Also Metro PCS offers similar plans for smartphones with data plans.

Solavei is $49 unlimited Data, Talk Text, plus your local tax.

You have to have a GSM phone, unlocked.  If it was used on T mobile you won't need to have it unlocked.

they have a one time sign up fee of about $49, but its prepaid service, no contracts, and great service for where I live.   Visit the link below:

    www.solavei.com/jsimple

You can learn all about Solavei, and check the coverage map to make sure you have service.  I have used all the major providers and for the price and coverage, I am happy with Solavei.
