You need to find out the cause before you can decide what to do about it.  Can she tell you why she is waking up?  Is she having a nightmare?  Does she hurt anywhere?  Is she breathing normally?  Does she eat anything very close to bedtime?

(My apologies for using the feminine form, if your child is a he!)

Asking what's wrong will give some clue.  Teddy bears help.

Sometimes a small night light helps.

    It will pass.

I worked in a sleep research center for 5 years.  One of the top centers in the world.  I would recommend that you consult with a pediatric sleep center first then determine if your child  should have a sleep study to find out why she is having so many disruptions in her sleep.
Do you have an animal that perhaps is waking her up?  Many times if a parent allows a child to sleep with a pet it causes fragmented sleep.
Researchers are finding out that sleep deprivation can cause problematic behavior in young children that have fragmented sleep.

My little boy went through a stage like this. I found he was waking me at the same time each night and because i was making a fuss of him it became a routine. When he went to sleep it was light but upon waking it was dark and he has never liked darkness, so we got him a little night light and if he woke up we would simply tuck him back in to bed and not make a fuss of him as before. He is now sleeping through the night again.
