   Yes, absolutely it is possible.  It's called lying by omission.  It's buying something and not telling the person you bought it.  It's meeting someone for a liason and not telling your significant other about it.  It's cheating on a test and telling noone.  It's stealing something and not telling anyone.
   
   I think you see the drift here.  So, yes, it is possible to lie without saying a word.

   Hmmm maybe, I wouldn't call it a proper lie though. Apparently if we look to the left when we answer somebody's question we are lying.

   you could nod, or shake your head no. but to me lying is lying.
   My motto is if its is therapeutic lying then don't worry about it.
   we have to do that at my work sometimes, because if we told someone with Alzheimer's their parents were was dead they would cry every minute. They are 80 years old and they aren't aware of time. sometimes they go back in time, to when they were in their teens or younger. We tell them their parents are at work. If A lie hurtful don't do it...its not worth the lies you have to tell later on because of it.

   Looking up and to the right stimulates the part of the brain associated with imagination (that is, making things up), whereas looking up and to the left stimulates the part of the brain associated with recalling memories (that is, telling the truth).
   
   Carefully watch a persons eyes and/or body movement. Try to assess their normal behavior before you present them with the question/information. People will sometimes “freeze,” not quite facing the other person, and will move as little as possible. Alternatively, some people will fight this by being overly dramatic, moving the body much more than normal.
   
   A lot of information is conveyed through eye contact; a brief glance at the floor or to the right says a lot. After talking in a relatively truthful manner, a person falls silent and immediately looks away, covering the mouth and fidgeting, are other signs.

   There are two ways to lie without even opening one's mouth:
   
   1. Lying by omission. Look it up HEHE
   
   2. Lying to oneself --about likes, dislikes, happiness, goals.... just accommodating to the status quo completely ignoring what one really wants or feels.

    Absolutely.  If I asked you if you were stupid and you said nothing, I would assume that you were stupid.  And, you would be implying that you were stupid because you weren't defending yourself.
    
    But, you could be very smart by not saying anything and letting me think the worst.

    Yes....when some asks whether you know something or are aware of it and you elect not to reply though you do...that becomes a lie because the person asking the question assumes that your silence means "no, you do not."  When we don't show up or don't deliver....it can become a lie. Sometimes what we don't say is the part that is the lie. WB

    Yes.
    Standing with someone who's lying and not saying a word or allowing someone to believe an untruth are both ways you can lie without saying a word.
    I believe these are actually the most common types of lies. Turn on C-span, watch the politicians for a while, you'll see what I mean.

    I don't like this guy at work so I give him this "you're freakin awesome look" that I really think is my "I wish I could wet willie your stomach with my fist. Lies are the backbone of this country, so it would be lying to not lie about lying about lying. O.K.?

    We've all heard how actions speak louder than words? So, yes, it is possible to lie without saying a word. We can be deceptive to those with us or just to ourselves. And to those who are comfortable with lying, it's a waste of life, as most people recognize the liar, who is usually only fooling themselves - with or without words.
