   I read in some of the forums that hubbers are not allowed to click on other hubbers ads?  Is this true?
   
   I understand that it might be a good idea to make sure you know who signed up through you so that you don't make an accidental click on your own ad.
   
   But other than that, are hubbers closed off to other hubbers hub ads on accounts of being on the same network? 
   
   It's out of curiosity from reading several hubs this morning about dry scalp.  I figured I would check within hubpages first for the answers I was searching for but it popped into my head that someone or many people said that you aren't supposed to click on other hubbers ads, so I didn't.

   Its not a hubpages issue, its an adsense issue
   
   Forum Posters are frequently so terrified of losing their adsense account due to clickfraud that they say things that would suggest your belief.
   
   If you as a visitor are genuinely interested in a link, click it, thats what its there for, to bring exposure to an offer,service etc.
   
   Are you less of a viewer because you are also a writer and publisher?
   
   I think a lot of this fear comes from all the posts people make about losing their adsense accounts "for no reason" ..they are lying
   
   Your correct in being careful about your own referrals as you could theoretically click on your own ads.

      Um...they're not lying. They're legitimately terrified.  Google doesn't always play well with others in the sandbox...

   Thanks sunforged. So are you saying that these people are losing their accounts because of something else and blaming it on clicking on other hubbers ads? 
   
   I really don't know.  It wasn't something I was too concerned about until it came up in the forums.

   Do you NEED to click on ads?
   
   If that answer happens to be yes, there is a way to visit the page. I described it in a recent thread.
   
   It's a good habit to get into to NOT click on ads.
   
   No clicking means no chance of accidentally clicking on your own ad on your own page.

      Do I need to click on ads, no.  But if I am looking for something specific that I cannot find in the hubs then yes because it might be what I am looking for. 
      
      I rarely click on ads on other sites as well unless it is something that I just have to see.  But I do understand the referral reason.
      
      And I am not a click happy person but it just seems a little unfair to other hubbers that if I am looking for something that I try here first because after all, they are working for this.

         When success comes it'll be in the form of traffic from outside of HubPages.com clicking on ads. Missing out on a click that might be worth all of one cent is hardly unfair. What people are working for is a stream of passive revenue, and it's something that won't come from within the community.

   See I dont agree with there overly sensitive approach, my adsense account(s) are several years old, ive accidently clicked on my own ads many a times - but hundreds of thousands of other people have too, so my mistakes dont prob make any flags raise
   
   People get brand new adsense accounts, hub for 3 months, get no clicks than start clicking their own ads..thats a much bigger ratio of unusual activity and hits from the same IP
   
   Then they make a big noise in the forums (hubpages/adsense/dp/warrior) etc. , we know that most of them are full of it
   
   But yes, google doesnt play well with others in the sandbox, agreed

         Well, in both the uses in this thread its just a term referring to "children playing together in a sandbox"
         
         but Google and sandboxed together usually means when your site is deindexed from Google -
         
         neither of us were referring to that "sandbox" though
         
         What we meant (or at least I) is that Google isnt always fair ..and not EVERYBODY is lying about unfair loss of accounts
         
         But i think most of the new hubbers were lying- they were impatient and try to game the system and cheat us adwords users - the high frequency of this happening suggests this to me
