Profile scores
I have been reading a few hubs and comments regarding profile scores. Out of curiosity I have been searching for samples and have come upon a few that do seem out of place: Example: hubber with 6 followers, 19 Hubs, and 4 weeks in the site but with a profile score of above 90. Does anyone have an explanation for this?
Unless the hubber has thousands of visits , it seems strange for such a high score.
Good question.. and only Hubpages can really answer this.. it's really complicated. Our profile score is a combination of soooo many things that only HP knows exactly what they are. On my second month I reached 90 only for a day. I was so thrilled, but the next day my score had gone back to the 80's. They say to ignore the profile score as it is not the true indication of the writer's ability or talent in writing. But I can't help but wonder too, and get a tad annoyed, when my profile score is in the 80's and others who have been here a lot less longer than me with 90+ profile score. A little consolation for me.. I am earning money through Adsense, HP ads program, and Amazon.. not a lot but consistently, and that's what I check every morning.
I've asked a series of questions on this very subject, and there is one thing that I've found. And that is there is no consistency to the profile score, and it doesn't make any sense anymore. There is no rhyme or reason to it, and it appears that the powers to be at the hub pages has once again, very recently changed the way they calculate this score. They would be much better off in this changing world to just simply do away with it all together. However in the mean time, the best thing to do is ignore it all together.
I'm not sure, but I know once I posted a few times in the forums, and started using the linking tool, my hub karma shot up--but my hubscore hovers in the 80's then shoots up to 90 or so, then back down. I cannot get a fix on it for sure.
I have seen some newbie Hubbers with high scores like that too. I have to argue that there is no magic to this. It's based on clear algorithms build into the site. But the details of these algorithms is not known by anyone other than HP staff. This is done to avoid allowing people to "game" the system and I agree with that decision. However, we can get a pretty good idea of what it takes to improve your score by reading and following what you learn in the "learning center". See the link at the bottom of any page.
I have only 2 hubs, and a score of over 80 after 2 weeks. I have focused on quality writing ( in my opinion!) and commenting on related hubs, answering a few questions, and using all the hub page components. I have added links to other hubs in my hubs as I figured this would be good Karma.
I am sticking to this formula, and will see how I get on, but already starting to generate some adsense income.

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

As some of you may have noticed ads show up on articles, the answer section and the forums. Great, the more ads the more that we can possibly earn. But I am still having a problem with the hubber (profile) score. Since any links that appear on a hub are no follow if the profile score is below 85,...

I have noticed it is hovering just below 85 recently. I have a few Hubs with a score of around 71, could this be the reason?
