Can nipple soreness be an early pregnancy symptom? Is a week after sex to early to know?

I've felt these soreness a week after being intimate the day my period ended in March. When April came around, my period was very light, and I continued feeling soreness into May along with light to mild cramping. At the moment I'm waiting for my period to come but I don't want to get my hopes up. May I be pregnant though?

It can take up to 14 (or 18, I forget which of those two is right, but I'm pretty sure 14) days for the egg to be fertilized so one week is potentially too short a time though technically it is possible. I can't help you with the other half of your question though.

Erm, sorry to be a spoilsport but Aair's answer is misleading. In most cases, fertilization is instant but since sperm can live for up to 5 days within the fallopian tube, conception can occur up to that length of time after you've had sex. I'm not sure where "up to 14 days" for fertilization comes from. Symptoms of pregnancy will start manifesting at the earliest about 3 weeks after conception but usually a bit later. The fact that you had a period in April, albeit lighter than usual, will tend to suggest pregnancy is unlikely. Seeing as it is more than six weeks since you had sex, the best thing will be to perform a pregnancy test which will remove all doubt.

I took a pregnancy test a few hours ago, it came out positive...im having very much so mixed emotions about this right now but so far I'm taking the news very well.
Thank you akanga1 for your response, after reading Aair respond, I knew that it was wrong information.
Conception usually does occur within the first 3 days of sex but the sperm can survive in the women for up to 5 days.

I am 6 DPO today; I have sensitive breasts and have been feeling nauseous as well. I plan to test at day 10 at BioTexCom clinic in Ukraine. We had a chemical pregnancy last month and my husband will be away for work for the next 4 months so we are really hoping this month will be our month!
