   Is it a big deal if your girl/boyfriend/husband/wife is not a virgin when you start a relationship?
   
   Forgive me for asking this. I want to know the opinions of different cultures.
   
   What I mean in my question is, if someone had already take your position to be the first one to take the virginity of your partner, would that be a big deal??

   Most people these days aren't virgins, so it doesn't bother me, unless they've been with more partners than they can count, then it would bother me.

   i wouldn't want to date or marry a virgin personally. i've never been one to care if a woman i'm dating has had sex before, in fact i prefer that she has.

   No its a NO big deal as most people these days are not virgin and well when you start a relationship with someone you concentrate on the person's inner beauty and not that he/she has been into sex or not...So, to me it doesn't matter if my boyfriend is not a virgin, but yes what maters is that how loyal is he when we are into relationship.

   No, it was never a big deal to me whether or not the man I was in a relationship with was a virgin.   The older that I became and the more relationships that I had the less I would have ever expected that to be the case, especially when I was not.  I have had only a few relationships, but I never wanted to be a notch on someone's bedpost. What mattered to me was his being faithful during our relationship, because by the time any relationship got deeply physical I thought it was for keeps.

   I guess now a days it wont really matter as long as the love is in the relationship. well, this is our culture...but i can imagine that in the other country this is really a big deal..thanks for asking..

   I prefer my potential marriage partner 2 b pure as I am. I'd prefer that the potential partner saves it 4 marriage so they have something special 2 actually present me w/. these days, virgins 4 rare. virginity @ an older age is extremely rare, & almost never even heard of.

    Well the religion where I am from it matters too much if your partner have sex before then he / she will first have no chance that someone will choose her as his life partner because of our religion.
    
    She will be treated as the big sinner of this world and the world hereafter as in our religion women have to be at home for all his life in emergency she can go out but she must have to cover herself from top to toe.
    
    Our religion have fully restricted women to have sex relation with more then one and the one is just their husband not any other.
    
    Our religion is ISLAM a religion which is the ultimate religion and complete.

    Let me answer this way, if you don't mind.
    Since you are asking if this is a BIG DEAL, I take it, you believe it might be a BIG DEAL if your girlfriend is not a VIRGIN.  BTW:  VIRGINITY IS NOT "TAKEN".
    Toby, good man, if it is important to you to marry a virgin, I must tell you that you will have to start dating ugly, obese 12 year olds.  Sorry, but Realistically, that's the best advice you're gonna get.  Good Luck?

    Today you will be lucky to meet a virgin girl, may be from very trick religious back ground. Because of technology and the times we are in, the influence in our society by all these factors puts a lot of pressure in our young to start being sexually active. Neither my husband and I were virgins when we met and that did not affect our relationship in anyway.
