When the President speaks would you rather hear the whole truth or what will give you peace of mind?
Any President, not necessarily the current one or any past ones in particular.
as an adult, i would much rather hear the truth. i can't imagine anything so terrible that the public wouldn't be expecting. by the time a critical announcement was warranted, we should have enough information to speculate on what might be said.
I think the reason the president doesn't speak the whole truth isn't just for peace of mind....if it was then they fail miserably. I think that the problem is that they do it for our protection. You might personally not abuse the information but others might. An example would be if you couldn't lock your back door. You would discretely try to fix the problem without letting outsiders know what was going on and when some strangers just so happen to walk by you might not be completely honest with them. I'm sure you wouldn't tell a complete stranger "I need to go get a part to fix the lock in my back door. I'm going to the store and will be back in 15 mins." That doesn't have to do with peace of mind it has to do with safety.
As a citizen who is concerned about the general welfare of this country, I think the President has a moral obligation to speak the truth, nothing but the truth, each and every time he opens his mouth in public. WB
I have never elected a President to be my parent or legal guardian. The job of President is to lead the country; in order for this process to take place they have to know what they are doing. For peace of mind, I usually have herbal tea!
I'm going to go with the whole truth for in time in would bring me piece of mind.
