    Do you prefer to invest by leaving your money with a broker or by managing your own investments?

    Basically, do you let someone else manage your investments or do you do the job?

    Hello

    It is depended by few factors. If I want to make investment in branch I know - I'm investing without broker.

    If investment is on middle-known market - I'm hiring broker or specialist.

    I'm using outsourcing from time to time.

    Vanguard manages my investments which are allocated among three no-load, low-cost, tax-efficient mutual funds and a money market fund. I re-balance among the three funds from time to time. For most people picking stocks with or without help from a broker is a loser's game. Small investors are at the bottom of the "food chain," the last to get the good news or the bad news.

    I prefer to invest by myself and am about to start a dividend project on my finance blog. The plan is to buy a basket of 5-6 blue chip dividend stocks such as Coca Cola and Heinz. I will be tracking both the stock appreciation as well as the divident payments and appreciation. So many people forget that the dividends appreciate as the stock appreciates so there is a good chance you end up receiving a much higher yield as the years go by.
