What is the polite way to let a hubber know about major spelling and grammar errors on their hub?
I've discovered the occasional ones in mine after publishing while tired, and was happy to know no one gave a down thumb before I could fix it. I've seen some hubs that were much, much worse, but felt funny sending a personal message.
As the Nike ad says, "Just do it!" You can say that your hub is very good; however, it would be much better if you do the following things e.g. make judicious use of a dictionary and/or a grammar book to make your hubs run more smoothly and look more professional.
I suggest mentioning Hub Article errors privately, through the contact button. I always appreciate people alerting me of spelling errors and pointing out where, in a Hub, the error is.
Using a personal message is better than posting on a Hub. I have found that most; almost all people that I have messaged about errors have been thankful for my pointing it out. If someone takes offense to it, well...what can I say?

I agree with J.S.Matthew that notification should be done by PM and in a polite manner. I appreciate being told about my errors, especially spelling errors.
However some words are spelled differently in other cultures such as 'center' and 'centre' as it is spelt in Australia!
I believe an email is nice...I have great friends who has done this for me and I appreciate it so much and never take offense..I know they only want the best for me.
I used to have a fellow hubber just correct my hubs for me...you must be an editor :0)...Hey we fiction writers can not spell and besides we make up new words every day....!!!
Mike :0) So I have no Pro if you wish to corrrrreeeeccctttt me LOL

Do you think it's polite to point out to a fellow hubber that they have misspelled a word or name?

I read in today's blog about the Automated Grammar and Spelling Checker coming in September.I like the idea of correcting errors in comments. Many times I had to delete comments that were written with terrible misspellings and very bad grammar so as not to lose search engine ranking, But I'm...

I think HubPages is just a terrific opportunity for writers to write and make connections within the HubPages community. However, I am concerned about the quality of some of the hubs I see. Even if the writing is fresh and lively, if the spelling, punctuation, or grammar are poor, then...

Is it rude to point out grammar/spelling mistakes on hubs via comments?I've come across numerous hubs that have grammar and spelling errors, some minor and some littered with mistakes. Otherwise, these hubs would be interesting and will written in my opinion. Is it rude to point out these mistakes...

Why don't people check their spelling and grammar when they write and publish their Hubs?It is understandable when the person is not a native English speaker, but when the author is a native English speaker with some amount of education, it is quite sad.
