   Is God burning Texas?
   
   Every time a natural disaster happens somewhere in the world some religious nut explains it as God being upset with that particular place. Well now that the heart of conservative country is on fire is it still God's doing or is it just another natural disaster?

   I'm sorry - but earthquake's happen due to collisions in the plate-tectonics. Volcano's erupt due to a rush of magma from the Earth mantle. Forest fire's usually start with lighting hitting sawdust or another flammable material. Hurricanes happen due to the water in oceans getting over a temperature of 27 degrees, thus making it hot enough to start evaporating and with large winds the hurricane moves ashore. 
   
   But bah, you'll probably say "God" causes all that - too bad there is really no evidence of him, just a Book that's worldwide (like Harry Potter) and..Well, that's it.

   No, God is not burning Texas. Natural disasters come and go, and as the name implies, happen naturally. Personally I believe in God,  but not that God willfully manipulates all of nature upon people.

   God created nature -- chemical combustion, climate, tectonic plates, gravity, etc. So, indirectly, yes. But willfully and specifically? Probably not.
   
   Perhaps only something that threatened God's plan would require His intervention, like for example Noah's Flood, when the gene pool of humanity was threatened, and the future of civilization was in question.
   
   The fundamentalist religious right certainly have some cognitive dissonance to deal with on this one. Perhaps Perry should stop his candidacy and run back to help the Texans pray for forgiveness.

   God never does any such thing. He is a mere witness of the events. When he created the world, he has given certain laws to human beings. Whatever man does out of his own volition, recoil back on him. Hence, it is man who invite troubles on his head. If he does good thing, good results will naturally follow. In a way, God is like a postman who delivers the letters to  the CORRECT ADDRESSEE! He is unconcerned with the contents of the delivered articles. Some people will cry after reading the contents of the letter. Some will become joyful after reading the letter. God is just a postman! It is like Newton's laws. It is irrevocable and it is man's own actions which spell his prosperity or otherwise.

   I personally don't believe in a god, but I find the idea of this absurd. Natural disasters are exactly what their name implies, NATURAL DISASTERS. Things like the fires in Texas have probably been caused due to drought, cigarettes, people burning trash when there is a burn ban, etc., etc..
   
   People should really stop trying to blame things on the supernatural and work more on trying to find solutions to the problems.

   Listen to the audio of the Book of Revelation and you will understand that the wicked commit these acts in response to God's impending return.  He just in allowing these things to happen so that prophesy is fulfilled and that people recognize the signs so that they will repent of their sins and return to Him just as Christ showed us how some 2000 years ago.
