Can I submit a published document on HUB, even if I wrote it?.

I've submitted a second article that I've written.  However, it has been published before on the internet.  Hub is "redflagging it, because it appears elsewhere.  Can I do anything to let it stand on HUB or should I delete it and write something else.  I'm new at this.

short answer...NO. You can write ABOUT  the published article, but you can't reuse anything that's been published somewhere else. Am I right, hubbers?

stayingalivemoma: Yes you are right. King Google let it be known through one of its many dictatorial decrees that it didn't like the same article on multiple sites.

So HubPages decided that it would be best if original HubPages only articles be published even if you are the original author.

If it's been published before online I wiould say no. If it has been published offline and it is yours I don't see why not.

So true, stayingalivemoma.  I did get dinged for moving one of my blogs over to HubPages, and that's a no-no.  But as anyone who writes freelance, you can make money by writing the article differently.  You keep the idea, but you write it so that you don't write word-for-word.  So, instead of having a tantrum because HubPages was not going to use my blog article, I simply rewrote it and gave it a different slant.  Used different photos.  I know that sounds like a lot of work, but the bare bones of the article is already there.  If you are confident that you can write another article with the same idea from the original, just do it.  See what kind of skills you have as a writer once you pull it off.  I simply wrote another article, so you can call it two articles from one idea.  Of course, it was accepted.

I've always heard that hubpages will flag duplicate content. I think that stayingalivemoma is correct. And if J.S. Matthew is sharing her comment, I'm even more certain that she is correct!

You need to remove them from the other sites and leave them on hubpages.

No, you cannot republish an article you wrote elsewhere on hubpages. It is classified as duplicate content regardless of who wrote it. This is because search engines especially google do not like duplicate content and therefore your article or hub is likely to be classified as plagiarized which will not get you any rankings.  So forget about all the articles you've written and published elsewhere. Here on hubpages and the internet in general, fresh content is always prioritized and you get a lot of traffic for it. Hope this helps.

I have had this happen when I transfered over some work I had done on another site to this one.  I had to go back and delete them from the other site.  Good luck and welcome to Hubpages.
