Why does Hubpages keep calling my hubs "Duplicates"?

Why does Hubpages keep calling my hubs "Duplicates"? It is really frustrating to spend an hour or so typing a movie review and trying to make it perfect just to have it be deemed as a "Duplicate"???

Maybe their wrong but normally it happens if you create to hubs that are too similar in content. If that isn't the case it may be a glitch and should be reported as it may be a recurring problem for you.

You are right after spending lots of time and energy if we get this frustrating remark, it does hurt us. Hubpages moderator should look into this matter. Sometimes Hubpages policy is beyond understanding. Anyways, we have to abide by it. but seriously it's frustrating.

Sorry for your troubles, but honestly, it does make sense. From my experience, the Hubpages algorithm first narrows down on the category and then executes duplicacy checks. It's a formula that works.

Categories with first person accounts are preferred less by Hubpages, as well as all search engines. If you look at some of the best critics - they write from the perspective of an audience member, yet part of the audience.

One answer is -- because you typed in a web address very similar to an existing one.  Another answer is -- because your movie review is also extremely similar in content with another existing review.

May be Hubpages duplicate checker is finding your content same like other Content?

If that is the case, please change content, and submit again.

I feel your frustration!! I spent hours on a hub to be told it was a duplicate when it was all written in my own words, I then spent another hours trying to rewrite it and they still rejected it so i emailed them and they came back with its for my eyes only. I was like WTF lol. So went to rewrite it again then i deleted it by accident and had't saved it on my laptop so was so annoyed!! x

I just had a hub I wrote as a tribute to Nora Ephron who passed away yesterday.  I added movie quotes from When Harry Met Sally and then quotes of stars who spoke about losing her.  I didn't copy anything, everything I wrote I specified it was quoted

When you are doing reviews you have to be very careful. Almost every product or movie already have a review online and many of them list the same characteristics. One way of making sure your content does not copy others is to develop your unique writing style so that, even when reviewing a product that is very popular yours will stand out because of your style.

Writing a product or movie review from your own personal stand point should do the trick but if you read other descriptions and write your review based on what you read then you run the risk of duplicating someone's content.

Try to be the first to review the movie or product so that yours is one of the first published.

You ever thought about someone might be stealing your hubs ? It's known that sites out there have been  copying articles from hubpages. As soon as you submit your hubs for publication they copied it making your hub a duplicate article!
