   Possibly using a printer and do a 4" x 6".  You could give it a border too maybe.  I have made a lot of my photo greeting cards.  I cut up my cards and then I stick my picture on them.  I like to draw a border around the picture with a fancy ink pen.  Makes it look nice.  Depending on what you want, you can also create your postcards with Vistaprint for a fairly inexpensive price.  I've done a bunch of stuff with them.  You upload the picture you want and then you can create your text if you want.  Hope this helps

   Google something called "Stampin Up".   My wife uses Stampin Up card making products to produce some really wonderful cards.

   I do postcards in Photoshop, then bring the file into InDesign to layout to set them as two per page. I use an 80 lb cover weight paper, which will hold up in the mailing process. 100 lb cover paper is best, but I am not sure if a consumer grade printer will handle that.  A copy center such as Kinkos would be able to print your file on their high quality printers. .
   
   If you do not have access to these programs, you can use Microsoft word, or Publisher. Powerpoint works great for design, too. Photoshop Elements is a good program for photo editing, and can work as a layout program, too. I am a graphic designer so I have figured out lots of ways to do these types of projects. Good luck!

   4 by 6 unlined file cards work very well and are inexpensive and will fit in a printer if you are doing a computer project.

   vistaprint.com - they have the option to use their templates or upload your own.
   If you are creating your own it's best to do any written verbiage in a layout program such as InDesign or Quark, and import the images into that program. This way the printer will recognize the fonts as true colors and you have less risk for blurry words.
   
   Also - make sure all of your images are processed CMYK before uploading to any printer other than your home printer.
