How do you find a keyword that is highly searched but not a lot of competition?
It seems like all the highly searched for keywords are alway highly competitive. Does any one know a secret on how to find them?
It's safe to say that the majority of highly searched keywords are also highly competitive. Your best shot is to take a product that is highly-anticipated, but has not yet come out. Write a preview or your expectations for it, thus taking the keyword relatively early. When the product actually comes out, you can edit the hub and make a proper review of the product.
There are software/bots that are created to do these kind of SEO tasks. You can also use the Google Search, just think of a keyword search from it and look at the search counts and competitions. For a better tool, use Google Keywords.
Try something that is not commonly searched. An example is "Link Deception" or "Link Wheel Footprints" and you will see that not many people are interested in those topics except some strange people.
Use Google Keywords. But I suggest that instead of searching for the keywords itself, try to use variations. Ex. instead of "dog training" try "training for dogs" chances are people are searching for this terms too.

On Google Keyword Tool (only keyword tool I've ever used): I understand that competition for that word you're looking for should be low, so that you aren't vying for the top search results with that word; but I don't totally understand what you should look for in terms of global searches for that...

But I am wondering why there seems to be competition in the real google world and no competition showing for it in the external keyword tool world?

Can anyone help me figure out how to best optimize my hubs? I have several that have scores of 90 and above but they hardly get any views...I'm not sure how I could improve that. Even ones that have been changed by Hubpages' editors still don't get much traffic. Is it just the titles that I should...
