What is the meaning of keyword density and how is it useful while creating a new article?

Keyword Density means the number of times (or percentage of the time) that a phrase or phrases are used within an article. The theory behind it being that the page can rank better in google for those terms if the keyword density is within certain parameters.

However, this is a somewhat old fashioned way of looking at ranking, and there are a great many other factors that dictate where you appear in google for a specific term (many of them offsite, rather than onsite). I wouldn't overly concern yourself with keyword density, because it likely isn't a huge ranking factor, and might even compromise the piece you're writing. As long as your hubpage is detailed and useful to visitors, it will likely contain all of the onpage elements that will help you rank well anyway.

Keyword density, at least my understanding of it, relates to how many times a keyword is used throughout an article. For example, if the they keyword density is 1%, then the keyword is used once every 100 words. When a searcher is looking for information they input certain keywords, for example, beef recipes. If your article contains these keywords throughout, then the crawlers will know that the article is relevant to the search and will therefore, be included in the results. I wouldn't advice having a keyword density of above 1.5%, as the article wont necessarily read "naturally" However, this is a matter of personal opinion. Hope this helps.

    Exactly Holly

The best way is use the Keyword one time per 100 words which is about 3-5 lines. Use KW in first paragraph and title.

    Then middle, and last paragraph.

If you do not go over an average of 1 keyword per 100 words, you will be in good shape for not being considered to be keyword stuffing.

Use your kw appropriately, with real content, not fluff.
You can use up to 3-5 secondary keywords to help avoid keyword stuffing as well.

In my opinion, say your title talks about writing online. Therefore,  make sure you write and have keywords about the matter in every paragraph. It is important to have on 1st and last paragraph which will affect you a lot.

I can't remember the % of keyword density but I think is like below 10% or some sort. Too high % means repetition of words.

    Good luck!

Your primary and secondary keywords should be in the URL, title, first paragraph, a couple of times in the body of the text, and in the last paragraph. It's that simple. 1% keyword density is optimal. Latent semantic content is very important, too. The term refers to words of similar meaning, synonyms and related keywords. Density shouldn't be something to worry about much as long as you don't overuse your keywords. Placement is important, though.
