Surprisingly someone has a hubscore of 1, what does this mean for them, & what really is this hubscore all about for us all. Does Anyone really know the purpose of the hubscore?

It's a mystery, wrapped in an enigma. I have no clue.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing smile I am guessing that is a pureful move considering the amount of hubs and activity that hubber had.

Perhaps this person was violating Google Adsense policies - such as clicking on their own ads to generate income.  This would endanger the entire site.  Just a thought . . . I will be interested to see what other people say.  I also saw someone with a hubscore of 1 and wondered what happened.

I have seen someone with no hubs with a hubscore of 1. I thought not having written any hub was the reason for the low hubscore until I saw another hubber who has written dozens of hubs and has hundreds of followers, and having the same hubscore of 1. That indeed is very puzzling.

Excessive 'following' of multiple hubbers can cause this. The clue is when you look at their profile page and see a stack of entries saying "xxxxxx is now following". This is meaningless following in order to apparently get more followers for themselves. HP penalises their hubber score as a result.

I am also thinking if they have a history of being penalised for 'crimes' such as duplicate content, inferior quality content (bad English etc), overly short hubs or forum bans, their score can drop like a stone.

Mine dropped to one for excessive following. However, don't just assume that people are following others just to try to game the system. In my case, I was under the impression that it was supportive to follow people and network. It was lack of knowledge rather than anything else. I didn't follow anyone thinking they would follow me back.

That might also be the case with this person. I'm sure there are people who do things like click on their own ads, but it is probably more likely that they don't realize they are doing anything wrong until their score tanks.

People on the forums were so helpful and my hubscore has climbed steadily since this happened. It's now in the 50s, which isn't a great score, but compared to the one I knocked it down to it isn't so bad.

A friend of mine told me not to worry so much about hubscore. Worry about traffic. I'm still too new to know for sure, but learning. I had my hubpages for 2 years before publishing a hub, so I have a lot of catching up to do.
