Adsense shows zero earnings, have I missed a step?
Why does my Google Adsense account still show zero earnings, when my hub pages earnings have started to trickle in? Do I need to do something different to configure Adsense?
No, not at all. In fact, you're not going to make much with adsense at all so long as you are only using it on this website, and you are using the Hubpages Ad Program.
The only adsense ads you have will be below the comments on your hubs...they're unlikely to get clicks.
You will after building up traffic, however, start seeing a penny or three here or there - or you might make much more.
If you wanted to do the Adsense gamble - you might make much more that way, but you'd have to turn off your HP Ad program ads in order to do that.
It's sort of a gamble - as by doing that you're not guaranteed anything. I used to have days where I'd make ten times what I make daily here with the HP Ad program....but then I might not make anything at all for a week or more.
So I do the HP Ad Program. If you wish to also make a decent and steady income from Adsense - then I'd suggest Blogger or Info Barrel, or another site.....but this is easily the best self publishing site on the net, and this is also the only site that I know of with something so wonderful as the HP Ad Program.
Asherruth, so glad you asked this question - I have been wondering the same thing! I thought I had it configured right, because on one day I did get an Adsense click that paid $2.35, but other that that, it was .01 on two other days and that's it, The Ad program on the other hand consistently earns a small amount daily (I only have 12 hubs now). Thanks to Wesman Todd Shaw for the info!
I'm not trying to be a smart aleck or anything, but if you go out and pay for your own hosting along with your own website, blog, domain and/or name, you won't have to worry about such things.
Problem is, getting traffic on your own site is a full time job. I've tried it and in the end you also do not make a lot of money unless your are on top of it all the time
I was getting regular checks from Google until my main sites got banned from AdSense; ha! I've had other websites before with good traffic, as well. It depends on the niche, content, link building, and a bit of luck, I suppose.
Hi, I agreed with all points answered.
If possible, invest more on personal websites and blogs will yield more other than one site. I have 2 blogs and 1 website is now earning around $20 monthly.
Thanks to all that answered. Sounds like some great advice. I am in the I.T. field, so you wouldn't think this would be so difficult for me, but I don't know HTML or anything about setting up a web site. I will take on the challenge despite the learning curve, as I really need to make some money off of my writing. I love to write, don't get me wrong, but time is a luxury I can't afford right now so I need to make it all count. Thanks again everyone, this is a very friendly community here at Hubpages.
I am also experiencing the same issue. I get few cents from HubPages Ad program but the adsense account is completely blank. I think I would take this gamble once of turning off hubpages ad program and see how it works. Thanks a lot for elaborative reply.

I was thinking about this for sometime. Went through some details on this matter and found out that HP program is mainly concentrated on Impressions whereas Adsense is all about clicks. It's not that I want to become a Millionaire just by writing, I thought to ask the "Seniors" feedback...

Hi, what was you maximum earning with HubPages Ad Program in a month (not google adsense)? Is it possible to make much money with this program? Thanks.

Some people have said they've turned off HP Ads and just use Adsense and actually make more money from Adsense. I'm considering trying that out and was curious how much more some of you are making just through Adsense. Fifty percent more? Twice as much? Triple? Quadruple?

I really do miss the old success stories.. they were the ones that gave us all hope. Even after 6 years of being here at hubpages it is all a mystery to me. I am still loyal to only Adsense and didn't opt for hubpages ad program. My question is...is there anyone here earning over 500 dollars per...

Hi Folks,Can anyone make it crystal clear to me, step-by-step, how to switch from the Hubpages Ad Program back to just plain ol' Adsense? I'm showing my aging brain, but I'm not sure what to do, and don't want to mess up.Many thanks!
