i believe that, in fact, jesus doesn't appear in foods. i firmly believe that if there was a problem, he would simply open a cloud and yell "hey! cut that out!"
For the same reason presidents, geometric shapes, and musical instrument appear in food. A random shape is seen and our brains link it with something we are familiar with (just like seeing shapes in the clouds).
The problem is, it usually seems to be a fanatical person (someone who is hoping and expecting to see signs (check out Mark 13;21,22 and 2 Thessalonians 2:9)) that sees the image first and makes a big deal of it.
Since they find some faux importance to a shape that resembles our Savior, the tell everyone about it. That is why it seems that Jesus and Mary are the only images that are ever seen in food.
The search for images that look like people they have NEVER seen only detracts from the message that Jesus taught. Since this is the case, we must realize that the images are either mere coincidence or, at the extreme other end of the spectrum, possibly works of the devil. Jesus NEVER did anything that detracted from his message of God's kingdom. But that's all these images do.
If enough people thought that President Washington could intercede in their affairs, or that Yul Brenner might bestow a blessing on their household, we'd hear about all the times their resemblance was found in a pancake or water stain. As it is, the only time we see those are when we are watching America's Funniest Home Videos.
It's a matter of perception and dissemination. Because people want to see something, their minds constantly look for it in a subconscious way. When they find it, they tell everyone that will listen, even news reporters who are having a soft news day.
That's why it seems that Jesus is the only one to constantly appear in food.
Jesus should be given more respect then saying that he appeared in food, or a tree trunk, wall, stone, and squashed up tin cans! And these images are not even clear, why say its Jesus.
Well, we're always eating all the time these days, maybe he thinks that the one place we're sure to see him is in our food... Those "news" stories always make me laugh! Great question.
He doesn't. And neither does any other religious (or non-religous, for that matter) celebrity. It is nothing more than wishful thinking stemming from a person's particular belief system and a trick of the brain known as "pattern matrixing" in which the brain attempts to make a recognizable image from random patterns.
A non-Christian might just as well "see" the Buddah or Krishna as anything else. It is all much ado about nothing but a scientifically proven phenomenon that not understood by the people who "see" such things.

I was just laying here on my mother's bedroom floor. She turned to one of the TV preachers, and he was talking about how much Jesus loves us, and the sacrifices that He made for us, and how every human is expected to consciously make a decision to follow Him.And I thought about the girls stuck...

Why does it seem most Christians are immature. It seems most people professing to be Christian do not have a proper grounding in the scriptures. They drink the milk but do not seem to be able ( or maybe no desire?) to eat the real meat- understand the deeper things of God, in spite of the fact...

Usually titled 'Welcome to Hubpages' or similar, there's a video at the top of each and every article. May I turn it off? If so, how? I searched in the FAQ for this question and was surprised not to see it. Since the video has no connection to topics, why is it even there?
