Is it fair to Compare the Trayvon Martin slaying to the murder of  Emmitt Till?

Are some people going too far making the Comparison of Trayvon Martin's tragic slaying to the outright murder of Emmitt Till?

I do believe Emmett Till's murder certainly in my opinion was perhaps the most hideous, painful, torture that could be executed by these deranged two men. The issue between the two killings is that they were both unwarranted, both unjustified and both unlawful.

No, the killings are not the same.
Yes, they are going too far.
The killer of Trayvon Martin is a well established non-racist.
The killer is, on the other hand, an idiot about what his role was: a part of a neighborhood watch.
The killer should have left any questioning to the police, and he should not have taken the law into his own hands.
What I find racist about the incident is the way the police handled the incident.  The police only needs probable cause to make an arrest, and the body of an unarmed teenager is pretty good probable cause.
As to whether the killer was reasonable suspicious.  I don't know how Trayvon was dressed (so I can't speak definitively), but I have seen how teenage black young men often dress in an almost slum like manner.  How would you react if ANYONE dressed like that walked into a gated community?
The killer reacted the wrong way.  The police told him to back off and he didn't.  Now an innocent boy is dead.  The killer will be forever scarred by this, and his name will live in infamy long after he dies.  Such a waste, such a waste.

Yes, some people are going too far by comparing the Trayvon Martin case to the execution of Emmitt Till.

For one thing, Emmitt Till was a 13-year-old child, whereas Martin was a 17-year-old young adult.

Also, Emmitt Till was executed only because he made a flirtatious gesture towards a white woman, whereas Martin got killed because he just might have been physically harming the person who shot him -- and on top of that, Martin just might have been behaving in a way that caused the man who shot him to believe that his own life was in danger.

Finally, the only ones who are comparing the Trayvon Martin case to the execution of Emmitt Till are those individuals who are ignorant of that segment of history (and probably history in general) -- and all of the so-called African-American leaders who see the incident as an opportunity for them to fleece large sums of money from impressionable blacks and bleeding-heart white liberals.

You can not compare Trevon Martin and Emmett Till.
Emmett Till was murdered for whistling at a white woman and was beat to death. Trevon Martin was killed for looking suspicious and was shot the only comparison between trevon and Emmett is that they where both African American. I am a black man and I think that trevons killing was self defense and Zimmerman should be free. The media only shows the pictures of trevon when he is 12 not any current pictures

Moe, while I respect your viewpoint, I am curious as to whet Martin did that justified shooting him.
