   As JohnA-gmc posted, yes...malwarebytes is very effective for malware protection. It detect and remove malwares that antivirus miss and this is a good supplementary protection to your antivirus.
   
   Take note though...that the freeware version of Malwarebytes does not offer realtime protection just as antivirus do. But it's really effective if you will to use it with manual scanning. If you want hassle free and realtime protection, you have to buy their commercial version.

   Recently I have rebooted my system because of virus. I had the malware also. And the way to keep your computer clean from any virus or malware is to get a mac or to buy really good antivirus.
   There is also another way, Don't use computer but I guess this isn't an option in 21 century lol

   To protect against Malware, you need to act in two ways:
   
   (1) Protect your PC:
   
   * Use a good Anti-Virus Software.
   * Make sure your firewall is enabled.
   * Make sure your Operating-System is always updated.
   
   
   (2) Stop the virus vectors:
   
   * Do not visit illegal sites, or sites of a dubious nature.
   * Do not use pirated software.
   * Do not use peer to peer software, shared files often contain malware.
   * Do not open email attachements without first scanning it.
   
   * Set Up a **Seperate** PC for browsing only, this can be a "virtual PC" so that the image can easily be "restored" if does fall pray to malware.

   Use a good anti-virus, I recommend avast, AVG, Norton, Bit Defender. Do not use pirated software and download any file from the internet without  reading its review or the comments that users post about it.

   The best I found and is free is Microsoft essentials, and if you already have malware, download spybot, version 1.62.  You can google it.  Works great and finds everything that is causing issues with your computer.
