   flowers and framed current pictures .Pictures last forever they are like diamonds...when you can't afford a real one.Make sure you choose a nice frame.

   anything that you personally made, things that you put your effort to make, because for me, the best thing that your mother can see on that gift is the effort you took for making it. i always value hand-made cards than the one bought in stores. its the thoughtfulness that counts.

   Mom's Just want your time.  When my mom passed away we went through her attic and found every one of the hand done things we had made for her in a special box that had been carried around for years.  The edges were worn from having the lid taken off and put back on.  I can't tell you how special the memories were that came flooding back to both my brother and I - Absolutely priceless!

   I'm not trying to promote anything here - Take a peek if you need some ideas on what to say to your mom in a letter.  A letter, one flower and a tissue for her tears.
   
   Our moms are both gone and I can't describe the hole they left in our family and in our hearts.  I wish she were here today so that I could be asking others for this kind of advice.  If your mom is around to celebrate with then you have no idea how lucky you are!  Because you have no idea what you would give for just "one more day with them," after they are gone.  Just writing this response brings tears to my eyes. 
   
   I wish you and your mom every happiness on mothers day and a lifetime of memories and laughter!  I truly do.
