What is the most absurd lie you've ever seen on television?

I think I first realized how pathetic and absurd mass media via the filth that own it was when I first realized how stupid was the music I saw glamorized on the idiot box....never once was anything of artistic merit promoted or was talent ever forced into mass compliance on an idiotic television.

What is the most hideous, absurd, and deceitful thing that you have seen a talking corporate bot say on television?

there are many lies a see on television, just as, when one of our political party say "in the long term benefit of pakistan we are making alliance to other political party",which is actually they are making for their own benefits.
when american officials say on TV "we respect the sovereingty of Pakistan",which they really don't.

Right!  I haven't seen a common US Citizen benefit from any US military action over seas since the end of WWII.

I saw Monica Lewinsky at the LSE in London getting her degree the same year my daughter Joanne got her 2.1. She looked well. Bill was probably hunched at his desk, pounding out his memoirs, still trying to pull the wool over his readers' eyes!

Fox News---fair and balanced reporting. That slogan is such a misuse of words. They are hardly a journalist organization at this point.

Everything on Fox is absolutely pathetic, and almost certainly the majority said on the channel are lies, but I think all mass media is mostly lies, and that FOX only serves to cause people to trust the other media news folks - who are also habitual

I would like to see them use real women with real skin or weight problems on tv without the airbrushing.  Don't put a late 20 or 30 something girl in an add for wrinkle cream, don't make women feel like they need to be a Victoria Secret model who has been airbrushed to the hilt to be sexy.  It seems nothing is real.  The same issues are there for men.

Also, commercials need to remember children are watching.  Don't make it look like the girl is putting something "other" into her mouth than a hamburger.  It looks like soft porn.  These are just a few of my issues with the fake, "glamorous" world of tv.

Isn't everything on television designed to make us feel inferior...or to always provoke some sort of desire to buy something we never once needed?

Since you can't listen to music right now I'll tell you what John Prine says in Spanish Pipedream. "Blow up the T.V., throw away the paper, move to the country, build you a home". I get tired of all the big pharma ads that tell me if I take their meds I could have anal leakage or thoughts of suicide. Those commercials make me want to commit suicide!! (Not really..but they are absurd :-P) Nightwork, c'mon man you can do better than that!

The 9-11 presidential address was very strange. People everywhere were ready for Armageddon. That could have been different. The president was obviously under a lot of stress, but looking back, I think he was more worried about his money.

Never mind tacky talent shows, how about Tony Bliar telling us on 'The Box' of Saddam Hussein's stash of Weapons of Mass Destruction - WesMaD  - or should that have been mass distraction? Even when the scientist he sent out to iraq - Professor David Kelly, who was later said to have 'committed suicide' - came back and said there weren't any, Tony told us to batten down the hatches and sent out troops.
He sent more to Afghanistan, despite the historical lesson we should have learned late in the 19th and early in the 20th Centuries not to send troops there after dismal failures. Now they've been there six years or so, with all the casualties it would be stupid to bring them back before the 'job' was done.
And then he clears the decks to skedaddle, leaving his No2 to 'hold the baby'. Well done, Tone. Now him and Cherie are pulling strings to empty someone else's coffers.
Honesty - how do you spell the word, let alone know what it means?

Ah that Tony Blair!!!!  Is he George W. Bush's cousin, or were they raised together, trained by the same theosophic satanist, or what?

It was Secretary of State Colon Powell with the pictures of the insides of two empty U Haul trailers. He was trying to tell the world that this showed that Iraq and Sadam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. The U.S. news cut to the news anchor, blotting out the sound of the United Nation Delegates laughing at Powell. I knew it was a joke because all you had to do was look at it. And, well, I had talked to some folks who knew it was contrived to get us in a war to get the oil. But the gall of it all is still GREAT. And to think a couple of Texans thought of it, Wesman.

Mr. Powell was obviously being used - but at the same time, that was part of his job - LIE LIE LIE so that Dick Cheney and friends can do the bidding of David Rockefeller and the Rothschild clan of satanic bankers.

Wasn't that semi-Colon Powell? He was only half the man he was in the military.
