   Is it possible to prove the moon landing conspiracy theory false by taking a shot of the moon buggy?
   
   Is it technologically possible to capture images of the hardware and the tracks left by the moon landings?  Or is the moon just too far away to be able to get an image with sufficient resolution?  If it can be done, it will certainly answer the question of whether America really did go to the moon once and for all.

   The moon is too far away for a good photo. However, there is a way that has proven time and time again that humans landed on the moon: The Ongoing Lunar Laser Ranging Experiment. Special mirrors were left on the moon's surface by Apollos 11, 14 & 15. A highly focused laser beam from the Goddard Spaceflight Center is beamed to the moon and regularly receives return data from the moon.

   We have pictures of the rovers on the moon. The moon landings happened. Case closed! Sheesh; I wish we could put this nonsense behind us. Fact or Faked even proved that they could not fake the moon landings on a movie set. Our country spent massive amounts of money on new hardware, software, physics and engineering specialists, rocket scientists, research and development. We did something that since the dawn of reason was the most important and historical event in human history. It showed our potential as a race in this vast and indeed complex universe.

   Ground-based telescopes cannot image the landing sites - the smallest objects viewable by even the largest professional telescopes would have to be more than a kilometer wide.
   
   The landing sites have been photographed by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter during its high-resolution mapping mission, however, which can see the LM descent stages, rovers, rover tracks, and even the footprints and flags.
   
   Of course, none of this evidence, including the Laser Ranging experiment, will convince Moon Hoaxers. They are simply impervious to fact and logic.

   Thank you for all your replies, and I'm happy to say that I learned some things that I didn't know. For the record I do believe that the moon landings happened, and that it was definitely a testament to man's ingenuity, especially given the technology at that time.
