    This is a baited question which begs the question, but I agree with your apparent bias. Egocentricity - I forget the term as it applies to nations - is harmful to the people and the nation. Whenever we put ourselves before God and the welfare of others, the outcome cannot be good.

      As it applies to a country it is the view that your country is doing what is best and its decisions and actions are better than other countries. It generally goes along with being overly prideful of ones country.

    The word you are looking for might be "patriotism." I certainly think that it is wonderful to feel legitimate pride for the great things about ones own country. But it is not helpful to hold this in a boastful way: It is better to equally appreciate the special gifts of other countries. And "my country, right or wrong" is a dangerous and deadly attitude.

    I don't think that patriotism is the word. Chauvinism, maybe, which is patriotism on steroids: my country right or not so right.
    Patriotism is good, but I think the problem is expecting other countries, other people, to submit to us or to mimic our culture.
    I am patriotic without reservation, but if every country were a clone of the United States, it would certainly take the joy--and incentive--out of travel.
    While loyalty is to be valued, I hope that we can appreciate that other countries, other people, are justly proud of their respective cultures and loyal to their respective countries.
