    How do you encourage your partner, boyfriend/girlfriend to talk and communicate with you more?

    We always listen to advice of older couple that the recipe for good and lasting relationship is communication. How can you encourage your partner to talk more and communicate so that you can talk about little problems to avoid more serious problems.

    Find the ways that communicate to him/her that you really care. Take time to be available and be around, ready to actively listen when he/she feels like talking. It takes time to learn how to communicate well and showing you care and are available helps 'warm' the other person to communicating more and more, in time. This takes patience and perseverance until enough trust is built to then open up and share.

    Do things together. Not movies or plays where you can't talk. Go to car shows, botanical garden, nature walks, cafes. I used to take my husband to a pizza place where he couldn't raise his voice or throw a tantrum.
