Should hawaii be allowed to seperate from the United States?

      If you want something so badly. Talk about it, fight about it, if that does not work, well what the hell just take it. Is Cuba a good example. I'm not so sure. So you don't want to use that example in you negociations.

   Hawaii IS separate from the United States. It's out in the middle of the ocean. You have to take a boat or place to get there.

   Personally I think that if a majority of people want independance, then yes.
   
   The citizens of Hawaii were asked to vote in 1959 on whether they a) became a state or b) remained a territory.
   
   They voted to become a state. But there was no option given for independance.
   
   The legality of its incorporation as an American territory is also questioned, as the US did not abide my the terms and conditions of international law.
   
   People are the most important factor. We are all equal. If more people want independance than to remain, then why not?

   If they do, they may lose lots of tourists.  Who knows, but I say to let them do as they wish.  I have not been to hawaii, so it makes no difference to me I guess.

   I don't know about Hawaii, but I think the US should cut Massachusetts loose, and let it be its own little, oppressive, country.  That's how it is anyway.  We may as well make it legal.

   Kinda reminds me about Quebec wanting to be separate from Canada why lose the strength of numbers n who's really behind this push for independence? why is it so important to him or her? will a King be declared next? really...a lot of thought on pros and cons has to go into it.

      I always wondered why Quebec wanted their independence as well.  Now that I live here, I can see that the biggest reason is that French people feel like they are being overrun by the English.  It brings them back to the days of Wolfe and Montcalme, and it terrifies them.  They want to preserve their independence, their uniqueness, their language and their culture.  They don't want us Squareheads taking over ever again   But they have a point and I can see their argument, but what they don't see is that they will, in most likelihood, lose a lot more than their culture and uniqueness if they separate from Canada.  But whatever, they can do what they want and then we will see.
