   Did you think justice was served to Sandusky of Penn State?
   
   I was watching the news last night and was relieved for the families and the men who were violated as children. I don't understand how his wife was so unaware of the activities her husband was involved in, esp. in their home. It was so sad to hear from the victims side, what they endured as boys. I think justice was served. I question how many other children he hurt that did not come forward because of shame and pain. They should set-up a counseling program for any kids who were ever molested by him to get FREE counseling. I question any coach who gets too chummy with a kid.

   I think he got what was coming to him, and once he settles into his "new home", there will be further justice.  i also agree how did his wife not pick up on this? Heck it wasn't long before I knew my ex was cheating. i wonder if she had a feeling and just ignored it hoping nothing would come of it or he would suddenly stop. Sadly stuff like this goes on everyday just take a good look at the Catholic Church and all the scandals they keep sweeping under the carpet.

   Simply put? Yes. I think they should castrate him. It's horrible that years ago you had to worry about your daughters, now we have to worry about our sons! Just cut it off man! That should get the message across to them that this type of sick behavior will not be tollerated!

   I think the people who sent the bullied grandma so much money, should have started a fund for counseling for the victims of Sandusky. These gentlemen most assuredly have deep emotional issues, much like poor Matt, that will drive them to depression and seeking comfort in alcohol, drugs, and possibly suicide.
   That's the saddest part of child molestation, the victim is usually the one who ends up dying or falling apart when the assailant is living on, healthy and victimizing others.
   I am happy Sandusky will see prison. I am sad it took so long to discover what he was doing. There are more victims out there, from years ago, dealing with their shame and pain who shouldn't have to suffer. I'm just glad they most likely saw the news and know their monster will never come after them again.

   I'm so glad that justice was served. Sandusky deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison for molesting these young men. I agree with your comment of how his wife did not know what was going on. I have a one-year-old daughter & I don't want anything happen to her like that when she grows older. I can feel the young men's pain of this horrible situation. I have to say that they were BRAVE enough to speak up of what it had happen to them in the past. All victims who are in their shoes to come forward & fight for justice to put these sick criminals in jail.

   Yes Justice was served. Sandusky was in the position of power and had the means and the ability to do good for the world and he squandered it.  I think he is deserves whatever he gets on this Earth and beyond.

   Simply put - yes the sentence is good and hopefully he will never see outside of a jail again.  As you say in your question though where is the justice for the victims when they are not provided with appropriate counselling and supports to help them get their lives back together on the inside - especially those who for their own personal reasons did not come forward. 
   There are some brilliant coaches out there who do not deserve to be "tarred with the same brush" just because they are friendly to children - and of course as with teachers, priests, scout leaders we all have to be mindful and watchful to try and prevent the abuse of children .
   
   In my opinion, equally guilty are the adults who turned a blind eye to what was happening however famous they may be dead or alive.

   I hope Sandusky lives a long, long life and gets to serve every year of his 400+ year sentence.  I hope, everyday, that he gets to find out what "life" is like on the other side.
   
   As to castration.  His heinous acts cry out for the most severe of punishments, but our laws rightly demand that though he was inhumane, that we, as a society,  not be. If "cutting something off" is a legitimate punishment, what would we cut off of a female offender?

      That is a very good point. What would we cut off a female? I think many of us mourn for those victims.   I think in prison his crime is considered one of the most offending, so you may be right, he may get to see the other side.

    We won't really know if justice is served until the actual sentence comes down.  The convictions are just the first part - the judge generally has the discretion to impose concurrent sentences and other options that could reduce the time served.  I'm not suggesting this would happen, and I hope it doesn't.  Yes, Sandusky should get a long enough sentence to ensure he never gets out again. 
    
    As an example of what can happen, in a recent federal case here, for fraud, money laundering and bilking investors out of around $50-60 million, the defendant was convicted on around 39 counts and could have served hundreds of years (and deserved to). Instead, the judge sentenced him to concurrent sentences, which reduced it to only 16-17 years of real time.  Each year the guy spends in prison is applied to each of the 39 convictions. 
    
    Let's wait and see . . .

    I think we will have to wait until his sentencing to know whether justice has truly been served.  I'd have to know his wife before I could form an opinion on whether she must have known.  She may be from that generation where no one questioned husbands or even suspected that kind of perversion --gad it is just disgusting to think about.

       It may be generational, cultural and blind faith, I still think if any child is screaming for help, any grow adult with any common sense would go check the circumstances. You have to be pretty deaf to the sounds of a screeching chlld in a home.

       True.  As I understand it he hasn't been sentenced yet. I sure hope the court does their job and makes it the full sentence.

    Most definately.  I have a son and two daughters and I can't imagine something happening to them.  If so, I would want the harshest punishment possible.  Those boys trusted this man because he was their mentor, coach, role model.  He was in a high position and these young boys were vulnerable.  You are not taught as a child to question authority.  That is the worst part.  This was so confusing for the boys that they lived a life of shame and confusion.  He deserves to stay locked up.  We need to be able to talk to our children and teach them that if something doesn't feel right, or if it goes against what you were taught to be right, it's OK to question and talk about it to a parent or trusted adult.  I know that dealing with this soon after the violation could have led to better outcomes for the boys.

    It was a bit of justice served for the vast amount of damage this man did to children.  The victims will always have those horrible memories and will need to battle the negativity that comes from them.  I am happy to see how the funds are coming through for counseling.  I advise parents to be very aware of the adults that befriend your child, even close relatives need to be scrutinized.  I too do not know how his wife did not know what was going on.. or may she looked the other way.  Sandusky will serve his sentence away from society under guarded care, but his sentence will probably allow him to have the best of prison life.
