What would you recommend for a game capture product?
I'm finding that a lot of people are sharing their gaming experience via postings on youtube.com. Many of them are even branded with the commentator's logo or game tag.
There are three companies I've seen who make such a product: Roxio, AverMedia, and Hauppauge.
If you do this or know of someone who do this, which product are you or they using?
I have a friend who swears by the Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR. I have not used it yet, but I've seen videos of it's quality, and it looks pretty great. From what I understand though, it doesn't support HDMI which means you'll have to use component cables for your PS3 or 360 and will only get a 720P resolution. Not a big deal though, considering YouTube will probably compress the video a little bit anyways.
This really helped me, as I'm looking to record my own footage for video game reviews! Any other recommendations that are a bit cheaper? ^^
No sorry, all the good ones are a tad expensive. Like I said, I don't have one (for the exact reason that they are just too expensive). However, I saw your question about the "Dazzle" device. From what my friend said, it's no good.
I've seen some people use something called a "Dazzle", but I'm not too sure on how it works. Looks really simple and cheap, but I can't get mine to work. If you type "Dazzle video capture device" in Google, you might find one. Hope this helps ^^
Cicsomum, looks like FRAPS is a capture program for PCs. I'm looking for a video capture tool for consoles like the XBOX. Thanks.
Was gonna say but it appears Forlanda beat me to it. It's cheap and efficient, but it's needed for console.
Roxio has an HD capture device that somewhat recently came out. It has hdmi ports (which I was looking for) and has a better price tag than most hd pvrs. I was able to pick mine up for about $120 brand new where most other HD capture devices are $150+, even used on ebay. It works as its described and it comes with all the necessary software, unless you want to do extra editing/streaming. Some of the software features are a little buggy but it's Roxio's first attempt with this kind of HD device. They already came out with a patch that improves some functionality. Hope this helps!

I use the Avermedia Live Gamer HD capture card in my desktop to record Xbox 360.
I have made a list of 6 cheap capture cards under $100 on my website a while back. If you want to take a look here is the link. http://www.bestcapturecard.com/2013/01/ … cards.html
If you want one under $100 I like the Roxio Game Capture or use the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD device.
But if you want higher quality video go with a PCIe capture card like the Avermedia Live Gamer HD or the Blackmagic Intensity Pro.

What would be a good image capture device to get for doing game reviews?I'm thinking about trying to make video reviews for videogames. I was wondering what kind of video capture device would be a good to get. Most of the ones I have seen have tons of mixed reviews. I have a Mac if it matters.

Can I download Netflix streaming videos?Just wondering if there's any way I can download Netflix streaming videos or movies for later watching.Heard there's going to be a limit on the number of movies you can stream at a time or something like that and I pretty much do not like this because...
