Hi all, I have published three hubs yet have had no comments. Is this because they are no good or just not interesting enough! Please advise as I enjoy writing them but it seems pointless if no one is interested. Thanks, Dave
http://hubpages.com/hub/Teddy-abandoned-dog is my first....
i read it. it was so sad, i will read more later!! dont worry, keep writing, read too, people will notice.
Join in the forums and get to know people, then they are more likely to notice your Hubs.
Creative writing doesn't earn well anywhere on the internet, and won't get much attention from search engine visitors. If your goal is to improve your writing, you may be better off on a creative writing site like storywrite, where there's no pay but the objective is to give and receive feedback.
My feedback on your Teddy story - I felt you were telling this story from the outside, whereas it would have been so much more effective if you'd got inside Teddy's skin. I don't mean using "I" - you can get inside his skin while still using "he".
If you could really imagine yourself as Teddy and tell the story from his point of view, then you'd start to have a powerful tale, IMO.
Hi Marisa, thanks for the feeback, I will take that on board. I will look at storywrite as well. That may be my better option as I do not have the time to keep churning out articles to make hubs to make money... if that made any sense! I love the community feel here though so I dont think I will abandon it all together. Thanks again, Dave
The creative writers are always a treat here, as it does show people are still creative. But most traffic viewed here is from search engines, and sadly no one really searches what you wrote about.
Being active in the forms will get other Hubbers to notice you here, and other hubbers are in fact the best commenters around due to the fact there writers like yourself.
If you do wish to make money here, you need to really step up and write like it, just because your writings are about something people are searching for, don't mean you can't fill the text with passion!

I have been on Hub Pages about a year and I have written about 27 Hubs and they have received close to 5000 views, which I felt was not bad and my status hovers between 82-88. Last week I had about 8 of my Hubs featured, which again seemed ok. Now magically overnight, I have all these codes now...

I have a few hubs i've written and they are mostly based on gaming, the market, possibilities of the future, but most of them stem from questions friends and family ask me about the technology market. How can I get more comments on my Hubs? I need inspiration to write hubs!

How important is it to have a comment section on your hubs, or How important is it to respond?I was going through some of the hubs that belong to some of the top paid hubbers ( info found on the success story page) and a lot of those people do not respond to comments. In fact, many of their...

I am still new to Hubpages and have been enjoying a rather successful start. Thank you to those who have voted my articles up and those few of you who have begun to follow me. But I have noticed one thing of late and maybe it is the way it goes but I think it is disrespectful. I have commented on a...

I was wondering if anyone would consider taking the time to stroll through my hubs and read a few? I would love more feedback, and I think it would help me get to know other hubpage authors. Thanks!

On New Year's Day I acquired my 500th follower. In addition to this, I hope to reach another milestone within the next two weeks - the 500,000th visit to my hubs in 4 years. As far as page visits is concerned my goal now is to double this and reach a million views in the next 2 years. But although...
