Who is the liar in Eden? Half truth? Spiritual VS physical?
Genesis 2:17 'for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die' Genesis 3:4 'Ye shall not surely die' Genesis 5:5 Adam lived 930 years, and then he died. 2 Peter 3:8 — 'one day is like a thousand years'
Snakes cannot talk. It was an angel misleading Eve: (Revelation 12:9) . . ., the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth;. . .
It is spiritual vs physical death. Spiritual death = separation from God. They were cast out of God's garden of Eden where they lived in his presence.
The initial liar in Eden was Satan who came in the form of a serpent. The serpent in this case must stood upright because later God casts him down to crawl on the ground. Later Adam and Eve engage in a little deception of their own combined with some half truths. Adam blamed Eve and then Eve blamed the serpent.
The other part of the curse is the physical and spiritual separation from God. Man also would now physically die. This is simple answer there is also a whole lot more to the story theologically.
God was talking about physical death. The spirit never 'dies'. Its existence after physical death resides in hell or Heaven. The serpent was the liar because Adam (and Eve) would never have tasted ageing or the subsequent death if they had not sinned. A point to note also is that even though Adam and Eve didn't have the same kind of fellowship they had with God in Eden, God never terminated his fellowship with man, in fact God made every effort to not just rebuild the fellowship man had foolishly forfeited, but he made it even better through the Lord Jesus Christ.
It refers to the Fall, meaning those who eat of the knowledge are then subject to the cycle of life and death, reincarnation. whereas those who remain as enlightened beings have eternal life.
Our physicalness is because of a denseness of existence - fallen state. Unlike the ethereal states of consciousness where one is whole. Our physical evolution has seen us more incarnated. Especially as we are more subject to materalistic reductionism than ever, it's harder to reach those states of wholeness.
Eating of the knowledge refers to not seeing oneself as enlightened or as divine as the source, instead seeing duality and separation - hence our fall into matter.
There is no need to blame the serpent, it is to see the serpent within us, the part that looked outside instead of within.
The deceiver is the liar in the Garden of Eden. It was not about medical death that God was talking here, but a spiritual separation from God. They wanted to have it their way (Adam & Eve) without God. That is death. Anything that is physical is temporal, but the spiritual is eternal. Think about this.

What was god expecting to happen when he put the tree of knowledge with an obviously ignorant and naive adam and eve in the garden of eden? Telling them not to touch it and punishing them so harshly when they did. It's like putting your children up for adoption for eating a cake you left on the...

How was the Garden of Eden paradise, when it had a demon in it?Can you really consider the Garden a paradise? In the bible, God never warned his children that there was evil in the garden. It is like saying to a child don't touch the stove, and not tell them about the very hot burner. Of course the...

To which country did Adam and Eve belong?

If Adam and Eve did not disobey God's one and only rule, command, about the fruit of that one tree, the tree of "Knowledge of good and evil", the way I see it, we would all still be living in Eden. We could pretty much do what we wanted, go where we wanted, eat what we wanted. There would...
