   Disneyland Fireworks! You're so close to them and they seem huge! There really isn't a dull moment with them either. They keep the action going and the attention of the viewer!

      I've not seen Disneyland but I have seen Disneyworld several times - truly amazing and emotionally charged when accompanied by the music.

      I heard Disneyworld is great! A little off topic, but if you ever have a chance, go to Disney's California Adventure and watch The World of Color. It's truly AMAZING!

   For me it wasn't necessarily the display itself but where I saw it from. Many years ago I was working in an office building on the Detroit waterfront and we went up to the roof to watch the fireworks. It was awesome. Not having to fight crowds alone was fantastic, but it also had a perfect unobstructed view and up in the air like that you really get the full effect of the explosions.

   I saw a personal display of fireworks from the balcony of my friend's summer house in East Hampton. Disney's great, but there's nothing like experiencing it from a few feet away.

      I think the Disney experience and the one you describe are not comparable.  They cater to a different crowd (or lack of in your case).  Your  balcony show sounds like it would have been memorable.

   Watching the fireworks over Lake Tahoe on 4th of July was the best display I've seen. One of the local radio stations timed some of the explosions to music as well, so combined with the view it was amazing.

   I watched the 4th of July fireworks display at the point where three rivers- the Allegheny, the Monogahela, and the Ohio meet in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We  were on a friends' boat, and the display was wonderful. Best part was, we didn't have to worry about traffic afterwards because we were on the water. The fireworks were right over us; they were breathtaking!

   Best firework  display so far i remember was, displayed on the event of my friend's marriage...and special about that is.. it was a full musical firework that displayed dfferent colourfull designs & animation in the sky & in the last it displayed the name of Bride and Groom with colourfull illuminated words, across the sky followed by melodious music that echoed all over in the atmoshere!...it was really spectacular...though i've seen lot of other gud fireworks in my life (as its common on social occassions in India) but none can be compared to that one !

   The best for me were the New Year's Eve display in Funchal harbor, Madeira.  They were in the Guinness Book of Records one year for the best in the world.  Each year there is a competition every Saturday evening in June, where 4 countries are selected to compete for doing the display at the end of that year.  So we get 5 displays for the 'price' of one!  And it is always spectacular, accompanied by a great soundtrack that is broadcast around the waterfront area.  Funchal lies in a kind of horseshoe of mountains, and there are fireworks going off all round these as well.
