   What kind of pests are enjoying your house right now?
   
   I have been in my house for 6 years and this has been the worst year for wasps for me, likely due to the mild Winter this past year.  Wasps are making nests on the insides of windows, in the corner of storm windows.  One window even had two nests.

   For us, with rainy days on and off we have the little black ants everywhere.  There harmless, but annoying.

   We keep the house clear of crumbs, food and anything that attracts pests in sealed containers or fridge.  The green bin is stored outside and the trash is kept in the sunroom.  No food is allowed in the trash by the region, it all goes in the green bin.  We keep ants away by spraying around the whole foundation outside ant repellent once a year.

   Little black ants.. "crazy ants" is the variety I believe. They're just starting to go away. Letting out dogs means flies occasionally come in as well, which freaks out my 3 year old boy whose terrified of them.  I have an easy wasp trap hub that might help your problem btw ^_^ I hope it helps.

      I had that problem when I lived in a townhouse without a back storm door.  I think I bought two ant traps for the year that I was there and had a problem.  I will check out your hub.  Thank you.  :-)

   I live in the tropics so I have everything but believe it or not, you become accustomed to them. I always have small frogs in the bathrooms and in the kitchen, When we first moved in, we used to have a yellow tree frog that stayed in the medicine cabinet for a couple of weeks. He would just open an eye and look at us when we reached in to get something.I have the occasional tarantula, once a snake in the bathroom, cockroaches, ants (all sizes), various types of wasps that build mud nests anywhere they like. We even have a small bee that builds a nest in key holes or in the holes in the radio.There are mosquitoes, and spiders and some bugs that I have no idea what their purpose is. My favorites are the lightening bugs.
   We have geckos and one outside lizard that decided he prefers to stay under the fridge. The way I look at it, they are eating things that bite me.
   I don't like wasps but now I understand them more. They get caterpillars off plants to place in the nests for their soon to be hatched babies. Ah life in the tropics.!

      Wow!  That makes me glad I live 39 degrees North Latitude!  That's a few too many BOLD critters for me.  :-)  Thank you for sharing.

   We are having the same problem with the wasps, as well as yellow jackets- it's like they are invading our back yard! My boyfriend managed to kill several of them, but there are still many more.
   
   Flies are another issue, as they are constantly getting in our house.

      Try setting a trap for the yellow jackets. We got ours all under control with a simple soda bottle trap. I made a hub on it if you want to check it out...

      I called an exterminator in June.  I just noticed this nest yesterday.  Exterminator said to call back and he wouldn't charge me so on Monday I will call back!  :-)  The nests were bigger than I felt comfortable with...about 3 dozen wasps last time.

   In the desert southwest we have all kinds of crazy critters. Occasionally I will see a spider hanging out in the bathroom.  Tonight, however, I killed a scorpion that was hiding in one of my kitchen cabinets.

      The first year I was in this house I had spiders, rather tame.  I sometimes get crickets, but my female cat likes to play with (harass and catch) them so I let her handle things with that.  In the Winter we have had stink bugs in the house.

   We have carpenter bees that burrowed into our railing on our deck and terrorize us when we go out on the deck. It's very annoying!

    Stinkin Stinky Stink Bugs!!!  I can't stand them!  They stink to high heaven if you crush them,  I scoop them up in a tissue and flush down the toilet, but even that I hate doing because I have to touch them...yuck!

       I find I handle stink bugs in a similar way.  They scared the life out of me the first time one did a Kamikaze dive right near my head when I first moved to this area about 7 years ago.

    black and red small ants. Their bites are rather painful and are always on the table top. Wipe the table, yet they still comes everytime for food.

    I live in SW Florida.  We have everything!!.  Ants and more ants, Wasp and bees, roaches, spiders (big, gigantic things), lizards, frogs (they can keep you up at night when they start feeding), Crickets (also can keep you up at night when they are mating), and I am sure I have forgotten a few.  But, if anyone has an ant problem - I have the perfect repellent:  Get some arsenic (I think its arsenic) Comes in a big yellow bottle (like a giant mustard bottle) at the hardware store, Take an empty lid and mix a little of the above poweder, with some sugar and water (keep this concoction away from your pets, please).  I set my lid right next to the kitchen sink and the ants will die (all of them) and will not come back (for awhile).  Repeat as needed.
