Does anyone here have a Blogger account?

I've recently gone and got myself a blog with Blogger and, though I'm sure it's just me, it is so confusing! I can't even work out how to find other Blogs yet, other than by using the 'next blog' button that's at the top of the page... I'm sure there must be another way! If you do have a blogger account, let me know how to find it! I'd love to see some other Hubber's blogs and then I'll actually be able to see what a good blog is supposed to look like, as well!

I do. I must admit I too only find other blogs via fb groups. If you want to know some MSG me and I'll email you some. Happy for you to look at my site if you want. I'm no expert but I've made a few tweaks. You can access it from a link here on my profile page. smile

If you want to find blogs that are similar to yours, go to your own profile (assuming you have filled it out).  You can click on any of the things you have listed in Industry, Location, Interests etc and the link will take you to other people who have listed similar things.  That's how I got started on following fellow family historians and WW1 blogs.

We probably all have very different blog styles - I've got several on Blogger, which vary in style enormously - my WW1 hub is quite simple, whilst the one I used to use (don't bother now) to promote hubs is in the "dynamic" view and looks funkier.  There are lots of ways to do a blog, none of which are necessarily bad - it's just your personal taste and it's pretty easy to change if you get fed up of it.

A couple of my blogs are listed on my profile page if you want to look - they haven't been updated for ages though!

Blogger is fun. I don't know how to search for blogs on blogger, but I google them and find them. Here's a couple cool basics. On your dashboard, next to your blog, there's a drop down box/menu; on Template you can go in and change the look; if you go into Advanced (in the Template editing page), you can change the Font Style, etc. On your dashboard, there is a Layout choice in that drop down box. Go in there, takes you to a screen where you can rearrange where everything is on your blog, add widgets--pictures, RSS Feeds, Followers widget, Follow by Email widget, etc. There's a lot to play around with. Here's my Hip Hop blog: http://hiphophonorary.blogspot.com/  And here's the one I use to talk about the substance of my writing, which I like the look of this one quite a bit: http://nateb11.blogspot.com/  I'm sure there's more sophisticated ones out there, but that's what I did with my blogs on Blogger, and I like it, it's fun, and there's some freedom for creativity.

I maintain a couple of blogs on Blogger and its quite easy, plus you have the option of adding 3rd party widgets. You can't do this on WordPress. My blogs are http://bernardosbagofbeans.blogspot.com and http://tokpixa.blogspot.com
