   How do you feel about facebook posting everything you have ever put on facebook by Sept 17th?
   
   Facebook is going to make everything that I have ever posted on facebook public on the 17th.  Everything that I wanted to be private is going to public again on someones brilliant idea to create a timeline and change people privacy settings without asking.  I have to now go through my page and delete, hide, or edit everything that I don't want made public.  It seems that facebook wants to post everything they can about you without your permission. I am tempted to stop using facebook.

   I recently had Timeline forced on me two weeks ago, after evading the switch for months after they announced it. I was dreading having to do everything you've described (changing individual privacy settings for posts, etc.) but honestly it wasn't that bad. In fact, I think my privacy is much better off for it, because it made me take a hard look at what I've posted on Facebook over the years.
   
   My best suggestion would be to limit all your old pasts via the feature of the same name in your Privacy Settings. Then, you can just skim through everything and selectively publicize whatever you don't mind anyone else on the internet seeing.
   
   I'm still confused about the fact that you can change the Date and Time of any of your posts on Timeline, though... I really don't see how that helps anything and can be used in any number of sneaky ways to fool your friends, etc.

   I am just curious where you came across this information, as I can find nothing on the Internet stating that Facebook is making information public as of September 17, 2012.
   
   If you are referring to changing over to the new Timeline, your privacy settings will not change just because you switch to the new Timeline.  For example, if you have your entire Facebook account set up so that "only friends" can view everything in your Facebook account, this is the way it will stay.  If you desire to edit your posts, photographs, etc., and make them "public" once you have switched to the new Timeline, this is your decision.
   
   On the other hand, if you currently have your Facebook account (or portions thereof) already set to "public," these settings will carry over to the new Timeline, but you have the option to change these settings to something else, such as "friends only," which would essentially render your Facebook account private.
   
   To the best of my knowlege, Facebook is not taking it upon itself to make 500 billion users' account information public on September 17, 2012.
   
   I deactivated my Facebook account, as I have absolutely no use for Facebook.  However, I am still curious where you obtained this information.  Would you be so kind as to let me know?

      I think what you may be interpreting as "public" is the fact that you have seven days after switching to the new Timeline to edit it before it goes "public" on Facebook, not to the general public.  I hope this helps to clarify things for you.
