High end mobile phone
I live in Delhi and still has an old Nokia mobile phone . But these days everyone in delhi even small kids are buying high end mobile phones, be it Iphone 4 or Samsung Galaxy S3. I find it sheer waste of money to spend so much on mobile phones. Do you consider it a waste or useful to spend so much on a mobile phone?
That depends on your need. If you just need basic mobile functions such as calling and texting, then getting high-end mobile phones is a waste of money. However, if it makes you happy to use cool application, and as a result uplift your being, then there is no waste on things that makes us happy. Go for it then.
It all depends on what you use your phone for. If it is just for calls and the occasional text then yes high end smart phones are a waste of money. If you use your phone for meeting through cloud or skype, do multi media sharepoint presentations via your phone or use it for buisness in other fassions this i say spend wisely in your buisness and high end smart phones could be a must and not a waste of money. I hope this helps you in your descision making for the right phone for you. I have the HTC vivid 4g works awsome but way to much phone for what i do.
When I first started travelling in North America a couple of decades ago I used to upgrade my phone nearly every trip. I went from dual band to tri-band to quad- band but still found it only worked in a few USA cities and very rarely indeed in Canada.
I stopped one day in a nice little cafe in Terrace Bay ON (my signal having died about 10 miles outside Thunder Bay) I noticed everyone chatting on their cell phones when my super-duper state of the art phone was as useless as a chocolate teapot. I got chatting and what were they using - analogue phones !!
Digital stuff had only reached the major cities.
After all these years of struggling with communication in future I just bought a pay as you go analogue phone for a few dollars, used it for a week or so and just chucked it in the bin or if it had any credit gave it to one of the homeless.
That's what comes of being too clever for your own good.
Kind regards Peter
Hey sweetie, you've posted a great question that I've always wanted to answer. Nowadays all the phone manufacturers are bringing out smartphones. Each day there is a new one released. And most of the time, one is better than the other. So it's no surprise that people are driven to buy a better one than the one they've had before. For example: I had Nokia's first phone in India. The one that looked like a walkie-talkie. As soon as I bought there was another model, a better one. A few years passed and the market was flooded with new models from Nokia. I wanted to buy a better phone, and I bought the Nokia E73. So it's common human behaviour to buy better things. And kids have smartphones these days. They're mainly attracted to the 3D games of these mobiles. They spent hours playing on their phones.
it depends on your requirement, before buying any mobile ask yourselves if u will be using all the features provided on the mobile.. if not then it would be sheer waste of money!!
example: for a professional photographer, it would be good if he carries a mobile which has powerful camera in it, similarly for a business man, it would be good if he carries a mobile which is rich in business applications like blackberry..
I absolutely agree that choosing cellphones should refer to one's need. My cellphones are blackberry and galaxy tab (it's a tablet as well a cellphone). They help me do my job and keep me informed with information from cyberspace. So, I think they're worth buying and sufficiently support what I need.
I agree. Also consider if you are buying these phones subsidized by you carrier or not. Here in the US 99% of the phones sold are subsidized so yes, even kids have quite high end phones. The high end phones here costs around $199 with a 2 year contract and kids often go on a family phone plan with their parents.
