What was/were your favorite snack food(s) from childhood that you still enjoy?

Just like anything else in life, our relationship with food began when we were young. From preschool through high school-there are certain foods we have distinct memories around. I fell in love with everything from ginger snaps to watermelon gushers and even though I don't eat them as regularly, the remind me of good times as a kid. I'm interested to know what food or foods stir up memories for you.

Raisins. They were my childhood candy and I still love them!

It probably sounds a little weird, but marinated artichoke hearts.  I grew up in California.

Olives. All kinds. All colors. Even though KU doesn't consider olives a "real food" they are still one of my favorite snacks.

Kettlecorn. I love the sugary sweetness and addictive qualities of popcorn combined.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  And whenever my mom would bake a cake, she had leftover icing and would put it on graham crackers for me.  Good stuff and conjures up good memories.

Cadburys dairy milk chocolate bars; I loved them as a kid and still do now. Although when I was a kid, they cost just 25p, now they're nearly 50p sheesh! The strange about thing it is that I only live a few miles away from Bournville, the place where Cadburys is based, and yet I've never been to their factory.

Fruits like watermelon, grapes and apples.  Also, love those sweet, chocolates like Hershey bars with almonds.  I love the pink snowball treats, but have to cut way back on those!

I used to love chocolate chip cookies and milk. Every time I came back from school I would rush to the kitchen in search for the heavenly stuff. I still love eating them even though I don't get the time. big_smile

Sadly when I was growing up, I could eat basicly what I wanted, so after school it was either twinkies, or Chocolate ding dongs. (cupcakes covered in cocolate.)  they have this today still but, its not the same as when I was a kid. First, the cream is not as sweet, the cake not as moist.  Especially the Chocolate ding dongs, they are just not as good as I remember.
