Does the white voter turnout for Obama in 2008 indicate white voters are less prejudice?

I think America showed that it will vote for who it believes will do the best job, irregardless of race in 2008.
I don't think however that racism is extinct, but I do believe we currently have far more blacks that will vote based on race as a percentage than whites.  It seems according to polls that approximately 90% or more of blacks vote along racial lines, no matter how well or poorly a politician does for them.  Obviously if whites voted the same way, Obama would have never been elected.
What is sad about this election, is how the Obama campaign has stirred up race, age and gender issues with fear mongering and outright fabrications.

Yes it did prove that the white voters are less prejudice.  I am black but I do not care about a leader color yet most black people do.  I am just interested how well they think.

Sentence should end with "indicate that white voters have less prejudice towards people of colour than before?"
Define what the topic of discussion is.When, where, who, what and why.
The old Milton Friedman line "as compared to what?" kicks in as well.As compared to other countries or other times in American history?
The answer,b.t.w.,is obvious.White Americans are less racist than say,a century ago.Nations like Sri Lanka,Malaysia and Mynamar remain as monuments to racism in our age.

I'd like to think that. Some will continue to be prejudiced (black, white and mixed). Obama was a mixed president by race. But what does that say about our perception and our critical thinking. Obama is half "white," yet somehow that doesn't count, as if the white half is overpowered by the colored.

Frankly, I don't care about skin color, race or creed. I care about the person on the inside.

Obama gave us sweet words -- a veritable silver-tongued devil. But he lied. He proved he is evil incarnate.

I supported him 100% in 2008, but now I realize that I was being uncritical in my examination of his lofty rhetoric. Where is the Habeas Corpus he promised to restore. Why did he approve the extension of the UnPatriot Act, he swore he'd do away with? He also promised to close Gitmo, but now he says that everyone incarcerated there shall remain there forever, even if they are acquitted! What kind of a madman is he?

Obama has his "Kill List" which includes American citizens. Murder by executive order!

It's now a felony to protest what the government does! I never thought this would happen in America.

How is all this Obamanation possible? Because we let it happen. The Corporate Party media hid many of these facts from us, because Obama (and Romney) works for the Corporate Party.

It seems some black voters will continue to vote for Obama because they feel he is their inspiration. I feel for them, but it's the wrong way to go about choosing a president.

Obama has betrayed (repeatedly) his Oath of Office -- treason. He continues to make little of his actions to tear down the Constitution he swore to protect.

If you care to investigate this further, check out YouTube, especially WXIX "Reality Check" with Ben Swann. See Obama side step these issues which trample on the very meaning of America.

Also check out the evidence that Barry Soetoro (Obama) may not even be a US citizen, as he entered the country as a foreign exchange student and Muslim, from Indonesia.

What an upside-down world we live in. America is not what I thought it was.

I couldn't agree more with lone77star! However, I did not support Obama in 2008, I saw through his lies and I still do. I also completely agree with lonestar about the fact that Obama is tearing down the constitution little by little. His views are to socialist for me. He doesn't say he is because then he wouldn't be elected but I know he has socialist ideas "spread the wealth" was the first hint for me... now there are even more being implemented but some people can't see it! I just hope we don't get another 4 years of Obama. IAs for the original post, I think that we do still have some prejudice voters, both black and white prejudice. I know some people who don't want to vote for Obama because he is black but then there are also the people who do only vote for Obama just because he is black. It's both but I see Obama as the leader of the discrimination party and especially trying to divide this country. America is definitely headed in the wrong direction with this president. WE NEED ANOTHER RONALD REAGAN and even a JOHN.F.KENNEDY even though I am republican.
