How Long Before You Say "I Love You?"

I'm curious when is it acceptable to hear "I Love You"? That is, when dating someone. What do you think? I've been told already after a month and a half... is that too soon?

Honestly it use to be hard for someone to say "I love you" ,but now it seems like people say it in a matter of days.

It is said casually a lot, but a real honest to goodness I Love You is said in a more sincere way.

Now to say to someone you love them in a sincere way. It would take me about 3 to 4 months

It's never too soon, some people are just more open in their feelings. You need to distinguish if it is a "friendly" I Love You", which you hear all the time, or more sincere and honest in the way it was said.

CrazedNovelist, Would like to know, did you say it back? Hope it's not too personal to ask.

Lupine, I don't mind the question at all!! I actually said "I acknowledge how you feel, but I cannot reciprocate until I'm 100% certain that I feel that way. Though I am growing close to feeling that way. When I've come to realize it, you'll know.

I don't think you can put a time limit on it. It would be a lot easier if more people were honest about it but I don't see anything wrong with telling someone if that's how you really feel.

I agree with being honest, at least the other person knows how you really feel and both can decide if they want to really be together. (Thanks for the following)

When you come to point that these words do not even need to be said loudly to be felt, then you know you don't need to say them, you don't need to hear them....it doesn't make any difference really...the real feelings are there and no words can truly describe them anyway...so don't even try:)

Frankly, if you are making the decision based on time and not on how you feel, then you're already barking up the wrong tree.
Say it when you feel, no sooner and no later.
