Should the world have a vote to elect the president of the United States?

With the strength of America worldwide and its influence and effect on the lives of most world citizens, should the world have a vote to influence or elect the president of the United States?

No, It should always remain a privilege of the American people and only the American people. If the world were allowed to vote their would be complete and utter chaos.

Why do people keep asking this question? They do not live in the United States so it does not make sense for them to vote for the president. Only if we go to war would it influence them, and probably negative. Too many countries would try to ruin the United States by choosing the person they think would make bad decisions. NEVER!

Each country should elect its leaders. I do not envision a world government ever developing. The United Nations was designed to be a forum for dialogue among the countries of the world, but it has basically been unsuccessful and always will be since it has no binding authority.

So the short answer is no, the world should not vote to elect the president of the United States. They can offer their opinions, though Social Media and other means, but the election of our leaders is a right reserved to the citizens of the United States.
